Does your AMG induce hatred on the road?

I've never seen any car create hatred...it's not he car, it's the driver.
DM go back to wonderland you haven't got a AMG so you don't know about dirty looks!:p

I haven't been pulled over yet and it's been on for two months +

I have had many plod give it a second look but I can only assume that they're allowing it as the letters and spacing are standard... I assume they are more concerned about plates where the owner has tried to doctor the lettering or font.

It would look great on your car with the black wheels!

Just shopped my plates in black and silver onto my car and it looks much better.... might have to take the chance and give it a go.

Don't think I'd be willing to risk a fine up to £1000, especially as I won't be able to see it when driving and other road users will either not notice/care or exhibit behaviour that OP has experienced.

I carry the normal ones in the boot with some double sided tape. I think you would have to be VERY unlucky to have anyone insist any more than you put the legal ones back on.

It's funny how people make a fuss about this but will happily break speed limits :fail

And anyone who claims they NEVER break speed limits is clearly lying.

I think I will stick around just to wind some of the uptight brigade up

There seems some good chaps around.... Any of you guys around north london do give me a shout :)

Out of interest can you post up if you now experience any different driver behaviour towards you with the different plates on.

Im adding to the debate that certain private plates actually add to this.

I am starting to notice this myself a lot from changing plates just to a dateless one (no hidden meaning or words in the plate.)

Did you read the fact that the negative comments were BEFORE I got the car back today? With a resonator and primary cat delete - something many on here have done?

Friendly bunch on here aren't you (!)

You will get this - a small minority of miserable grumpy old gits don't bother to read the posts and make up a response based on their own pre-conceptions.

Happens a lot but it isn't the majority on here - don't let it taint your view.

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that... My SL came with the private plate it has on it when the previous owner took his off - unusually th DVlA put this former former private plate back on instead of the 53 plate.... So I have little choice but to keep it or find another priv plate but cannot find anything I want.

Quite honestly though, some of the behaviour happens when I doubt people will have had the chance to see it's got a private plate on.

Is there a button to press so you can ignore certain members?

On a past forum I used to use you could do this and you would not even see the posts from the ignored party.

Me thinks it could make using this forum more enjoyable.

Trouble is it still shows post by an 'ignored' user when they are quoted..... meaning you can still suffer their nonsense even when trying not to :D

But surely only if you click the undo button on the right hand side of the ignored post. Granted it can make some threads difficult to follow if the ignored is a heavy poster on that thread.

I think in the absence of an ideal solution we need to embrace what tools are available :)

No if you have a user on ignore then you don't see their posts, however if another user quotes their post you see the quoted post in the other user's post. Not a complaint, just an observation as the software programming behind hiding quoted posts would be quite heavy.

As a result of your post I read the complete thread and am absolutely disgusted and shocked by what I read.
There is clear evidence of bullying and background collusion in the two posts below.
What makes it worse is that yet again, one of the ringleaders appears to be a Moderator.

Time for Nick to be issuing a writ, I think. This has gone on way too long.

The solution to getting tailgated in a 30 or 40 zone is not more speed. Im guessing your indirectly refering to yourself reguarding becoming bankrupted when owning one, which would explain your ongoing chip on your shoulder about AMGs

Think you have been declared bankrupt more than the average forum member Nick, but then it is a great way to wipe your debts and buy up your old stock cheap isn't it?

Don't bother ignoring/hiding posts. If you disagree with someone or have an opinion, air it and screw the rest.

DM - I've read in a couple of posts now that there is bullying and collusion behind the scenes. What a bunch of girls they must be!

I'd be banned within a day if I said what I thought to one or two posts on here and I actually find this place very useful so .... best ignore :D
