Want to do auto oil change on A160 cdi auto box but dont understand how the oil is drained from torque conv, the WIS says, connect breather pipe (Pt No 722 589 00 90 00) to hand pump and slide the breather pipe into torque conv. But exactly where does the pipe go maybe into drain screw hole can any experts help me.

I have just looked on WIS and from what I can see there is no drain for the TC.

What is the WIS document number?

from 22.9.99, all automatic gearbox (torque conv) no have drained screw

Not all after that date. I have seen a 2002 car with one.

Ok, just had a read up.

It has a drain bung that you have to lightly pressurise with a special tool and by doing this it releases the ATF in the TC.

I dont think you are going to be able to do it without the tool.

If it was me doing it without the tool I would drain and re-fill the sump of the 'box (replace the filter too) and then run the car in D with the wheel off the ground for 20-30 mins.

Then drain the sump again and then re-fill and check the level.

Do you have the document number? I ned to have a little read methinks.

I have seen one 100% on a 2002 CLK 320. I know I saw it because It took the TC out!

yes , i say tomorrow

^ which Babelfish says is...

"Gearbox of 722.6## /6, beginning with 1772285, from the date production 22.9.99 For purposes of the decrease of the expenditures of [uprazdnen] of [masloslivnoy] the bolt of hydraulic converter for the gearboxes of all (ALL) versions."

ALL versions of 722.6. (possibly?)

you are right, gearbox 722,9 have the screw. 722.8 is not clear, gear box where is screw is, but is gear box where no screw.
