Plan on fitting new discs soon. I may drill these beforehand, mainly for appearance. I would use a bench drill.

Anyone know the best drill bit size to use. I realise it will need to be small in order not to drill into the vent vanes between the outer and inner discs on the fronts.

Also, would 3 holes from outer dia to inner dia of the disc be the normal ?

Personally I wouldn't drill my own disks as I'm sure they would need balancing and it could reduce the strength if not done correctly.

You'll need at least half a dozen good quality drill bits per disc. Mr Porter's "How to Rebuild your MGB" book covers this (from the days when drilled disks were less easily available). 6mm I seem to remember (books in the loft).

Don't forget you'll need to be carefull to avoid the webbing on vented discs.

Not worth the hassle surely, drilled or groved discs can be picked up at reasonable cost these days (compared standard discs + drills + time). I got a set of groved fronts for the Vectra for about £50 quid off ebay several years ago - never had any problems with them (think they came from "Mr Disc" but I don't think he's trading under than name anymore).

Have you got a jig to do it or are you just going to fire up the DeWalt ?

I can get it done in the workshop. Not allowed to bring personal cars in, but can do this job with the discs.

Amount of drill bits are not a problem, just wondering on best size of bit to use.

You will find that the ones off the sport are already drilled. Disc dimensions appear to be the same.
The ones I sell are!!

Hm anything to match 202 C240 Sport dimensions? Fronts newish, but rears will need changing before too long.

pm me your chassis numbers please!

Do you do them for a 320 CLK ? :)

OOOPS!!!
Just checking re drilled discs, my bad, only drilled ones supplied where drilled are fitted as originals, SORRY:(

........but still by all means ask the price for standard!

Chassis No. PMd. Remember it's a 203 C240.

Not found any after market drilled discs available in the UK before, only USA and shipping is more expensive than the actual dics,

My wifes Drilled discs with front with pads / sensor and anti squeal paste at Mercedes garage was £130 all in. (A210 AMG)

Is it worth the hassle given its your brakes your messing with?

Web site working now. £180 a pair of drilled fronts. that's heavy. I think the workshop seems more attractive.

they do look good though.
