e350 cdi remap?

Ok so I've upgraded the old silver w203 320cdi to a white e350 cab 265bhp. Love the car but it feels a little sluggish compared to the c class. I had the previous car mapped by Celtic tuning via Olly at PCS. I'm now looking for the same for the "E". So my question is who has had theirs done and who would you guys recommend. I am on the South Coast near Eastbourne so I don't really want to travel to far. I have heard good things about JF Automotive at Maidstone they also offer some sort of upgrade for the gearbox. But I haven't any personal experience. So all advise and recommendations welcome.

Just out of interest, why don't you go through the same route as the with the w203, with a Celtic remap?

I think she got a little smokey just before a sold her. I didn't really choose the celtic route. When I bought the car the engine management light kept coming on. It turned out to be a bad remap. New map no light. I have made an enquiry with Celtic and will go down this route if no-one has a better option. I am curious however about the TCU upgrade for the gearbox. With the "c" the box let the map down by not responding quickly enough.

I was recently looking at an E350cdi and was glancing at remaps. GAD tuning are claiming big numbers from their 265bhp versions. Between 300-310bhp which sounds interesting! People claiming a massive difference after the map has been done

Think they also fettle with the TCU as well! But not read any more than that!

Ah, ok, was just a thought, that if you were happy with what they did to the C Class then there's no reason to look for others.

There are lots of tuners about in the UK, with a few who are nearby. I have no experience but heard of the following;

Local: DMS, Rebellion
Further away MSL, GAD, Eurocharged, Avon.

Think most can do the TCU too, but at extra cost.

Anybody on here any experience with the TCU upgrade? What's the real world difference? Is it worth the extra?

I've been researching old posts on here and found both the companies I was considering for my re-map criticised. One being Celtic the other Gad. So I've had little response so far I'm just looking for a point in the right direction based on peoples own experiences. I'm in the south east.

Most people seem to be happy with products from GAD, wonder if all are happy, or the unhappy are just quiet?

Similar with Celtic, but see a recent thread on a disappointing result from a Celtic remap.

What worries me the most, is that both don't offer rolling road proof, however seem to have reputation.

Got my e350 coupe done by gad north
And no complaints about car performance and the professionalism of Nad at gas north
And a wee discount for club members

The work at GAD was it live mapping on a rolling road? Did they do anything with the gearbox software? They have a branch in Essex which isn't to far for me. Equally a colleague has recommended JF Automotive if anyone on here has heard of them?

they remapped my octavia VRS back in March 2015, it did transform the car and never had any issues with it till i sold it last month.

They have done some super cars too!

I may consider them for my 350 but may opt for an economy map.

GAD failed to answer any of my technical questions or support their power gains etc. both via telephone and email on numerous occassions.

Well with Celtic there is a thread on the W211 E280 CDI which speeaks for itself.

Eurocharged were not very helpful with my enquiry either hence I ended up opting for very reputable German MB tuner and drove all the way to Germany!

Most of these maps are written overseas anyway, hence the reason for the low response rate...

They all claim t write their own though.

I absolutely agree. IMO I do not feel that there is a decent UK based tuner that provides or offers any "in house" developed tuning.

With the CLS I have played "cat and mouse" with other identical tuned CLS's and the difference is very noticeable. I am not going to mention any names of the other tuners in comparision as it will no doubt cause a massive debate and upset to some on the forum.

You haven't heard of Big Fish Tuning that operate out of MSL and also in the North East?
Very well thought of with the AMG tuned cars in particular.

Take it to MSL in Birmingham, it's worth the drive. MSL and particularly Acid are highly recommended by everyone on the forum. I had my e class coupe 231 bhp remapped by MSL in January this year, car is still running fantastic with no issues.

I highly recommend MSL, have a look at their facebook page, they are Mercedes specialists too.

Hope this helps.

Msl mapped mine also not an e class but same engine. Such a professional establishment to deal with

Thanks everyone for your comments. It would appear the general consensus is for a drive up to Birmingham to see the lads at MSL.
