e350 cdi remap?

i recommend dms - extremely professional and deal with top end cars

they do a before and after dyno run so no bs - not cheap but you get what you pay for in my eyes and i certainly dont want someone touching my pride and joy unless they know what they are doing abd come with a good reputation

they took my c220 cdi amg sport from 192 stock (should be 170) to 241

They charge something like £600-£700+

Just been speaking with DMS and they've quoted £650 + vat, that includes anywhere in the U.K. as a mobile fitting service.

Is there anyone NW based? All the ones I've found are predominantly South...

They are based in southampton

You can also negotiate on the price

DMS results are impressive!

:dk:

For that price id except them to bring a rolling road to 'anywhere in the uk' to do before and after runs! With a 3 course meal included

You get what you pay for which we all know….. however, if you are on a budget then perhaps they may not then be your choice.

DMS have a reputation for tuning a variety of top end cars. As far as I am ware they are the first UK tuner to crack the ECU and tune the new W205 C63 which speaks for itself.

With DMS you are also paying for the aftercare service which includes coming out to your choice of location as many times as necessary to reload the remap in the event should the dealership wipe it off as well as full technical support.

DMS are not either a one man band...

RennTECH, Vath and Carlsson charge at least well over £1000 for a remap on none AMG cars and are also well renowned MB tuners.

I have had mine tuned with a customised remap live on a rolling road in Germany for just under 2000 euros by a top leading MB tuner. It was worth every single penny!

I don't think any mercedes is special enough to spend a grand upwards on just a map, especially when it's a general one and not a map that compliments hardware upgrades like pulleys, superchargers etc etc

If we were talking about a fast car then maybe yes, not on diesel/petrol taxis!

Quite a few offer that so similar to be fair. I had no issue with the quality of the map I had from DMS in the past, however I was highly frustrated in their inability to remove the limiter on the same car! They assured me they had done it then twice failed to remove it costing me two expensive visits to VMAX 200 events! They were at the events also but were pre occupied with the Porsches there and not overly fussed with my BMW (was attempting to be the fastest turbo diesel at the time back in 2007 with my 335d lol!). Fortunately another tuner there offered to sort the issue (Evolve) and did, plus I got a better map.

You live and learn.

If you want a proper remap you need the car tuned on a private road or dyno to be done live and properly, this allows for any differences in the set up, tolerances or wear to be considered and factored in, it also allows for bespoke requests to be factored in also. Costs a bit more but worth it over a generic flash map that's worth no more than a couple hundred pounds at best.

I've finally got round to arranging DMS to visit tomorrow for the remap. I'll post my findings afterwards, they did negotiate on price. What swung it for me was the unlimited aftercare service, and how quickly they could get to me. It didn't matter they are so far away when they can actually be there quickly - for me that's handier than somewhere local. They're still pricey, but for the hoped performance gain and their reputation it still seemed worthwhile to me.

So remap done, DMS visited my place of work and it was carried out in about 90mins. Other than the remap were delimit and the gearbox remap, it now feels like a totally different car and I'm extremely pleased with it. The performance increase is clear, but as I've only done a commute home on the M60 in rush hour it's far from a thorough test of that. Far more interesting to me is how radically different it feels to drive, shift points, increased smoothness but best of all throttle response are all transformed. The lethargy, especially in Economy for the throttle to actually do anything from standstill was very frustrating. It now feels much improved, similar to Sport before. Sport though is significantly more responsive, less throttle appears to be actually needed. Also the change points feel more intuitive.

All this combined is worth the cost of the work irrespective of the performance gains. So I can't wait to experience that in full. The cost was discounted but I'm sure it's more handsome have said they'd justify in this thread. The reassurance of dealing with DMS and their aftersercice guarantees more than justified it for me though. I'm a very happy 350 owner now!

Just need to sort the suspension out now, whoever ticked the Avantgarde box on a Sport-spec car has a lot to answer for ;)

Take it to MSL in Birmingham, it's worth the drive. MSL and particularly Acid are highly recommended by everyone on the forum. I had my e class coupe 231 bhp remapped by MSL in January this year, car is still running fantastic with no issues.

I highly recommend MSL, have a look at their facebook page, they are Mercedes specialists too.

Hope this helps.

what gains did you get????

Sounds very much like my experience with DMS. I posted only yesterday about this! I'm now seeing 332.7bhp and 520 pound ft from my E350 CDI

Check out my post about DMS yesterday! Sounds the same as yours but I used the rolling road not the visiting service
