Hi all. What exactly is the tcu tune and what benefits does it provide. Is it beneficial to do on a factory standard car or is it only beneficial to do it with other mods?

Improvements Include:
- Modification of Torque Management Settings
- Reduced Slippage
- Faster Shifting

I would recommend on an upgraded car, its been around for a while, and a Few EC Dealers offer it

Just be aware that slow speed gear changes can be a bit clunky. High speed changes are very smooth and fast though.

Had Speedriven TCU tune on my old CL600 (same gearbox). Shifting was very smooth and quick. If you want a quicker upshift and higher rpm in each gear, consider shorter rear axle ratio, e.g. 2.82 or even 3.06.

I have this on my own car, Sav man(now EC UK)did spell out the down sides of doing the TCU to me at the time, knowing how fussy I am, but I went ahead and got it done.
Exactly as Ollie has raised, in slow moving traffic, the shifting is definitely more clunky, occasionally, it's a little annoying. So if you spend a lot of time in slow moving traffic, I personally would advise against it. This said, if you can live with it, and more so spend time travelling at a higher rate, it's beneficial, much slicker shifting, I have not regretted having the TCU mapped myself, ad just live with the odd clunk here and there.:D Best of luck with your own car.

I had the EC that Jerry did, and to be honest did not notice any problems at any speed with its operation, but unless you are going for more power, I don't think it would be beneficial to be fair
