This came on yesterday after washing car. Reset on dash didn't come back.
'Thinks' knocked cable with wheel brush or got water in sensor.Let it dry out.
Used car to day, came back on, took all 4 wheels off, nothing looks out of place. Any ideas?

You need to get it on a diagnostic machine, preferably star to narrow it down as there is numerous things that it could be, guessing at it could cost you more time & money than getting it read

it resets after turning the steering wheel full left and right, but comes back on later.
Does it need the fault codes reset or does it not retain them for this fault?

Usually if its a steering angle reset, this only works after a battery disconnect or steering angle sensor replacement. The light will distinguish & stay off.
If yours is staying on then you have a faulty & need to get it on star diagnostics so fault codes and actual values can be read

The light goes off but may come back on in a mile, or it may be 10 miles

I would say it is a wheel speed sensor that is playing up may have got water into it.

As above cheapest and easiest thing to is get it on a star machine and get the fault codes read.

Well a trip to the garage a diagnosed a steering wheel angle sensor. or some other sensors.
Most likely the steering sensor, bit the bullet and had it changed at £390,
and guess what its back. Ouch, back to the garage to get the star read again and see what else is showing up.

Dave at MBS said there is a wiring mod/repair kit listed.found this on the other side not sure if this could be the fix.

I dont suppose you know what the actual fault codes that were listed.

When it was diagnosed did they clear the fault codes first then retest the vehicle as some of those could of been in there for a while.

The first time I went there read the codes and cleared them out.
When I went back to get the job done there steering sensor error was back and so were some stability sensors

Do you know what the other codes were.

If there was other codes there how come they went for the steering angle sensor.

He went for the steering sensor as I said that when you reset the steering wheel (full left turn and full right turn twice )it went away for a while.
Cant remember the exact other codes, it was about stability which there is one in the boot and another under the centre console

Wheel speed sensor is the norm for this.

When plugged into his laptop drive down the road and read the values for each wheel, I bet one is reading a big fat 0.

It was the lateral acceleration sensor.

Did you find that replacing the lateral acceleration sensor fixed the issue in the end?
