Fat Bint on Horse Slags off my pet welfare decisions......

May well get interpreted as that, but should it be? I'm not so sure, though am not condoning it....

intentionally or recklessly causes another to suffer or apprehend immediate unlawful violence

I don't think it's inlawful violence, but haven't studied the case law precedent. But nowadays people scream blue murder if someone literally touches them 🙄 safe space required!
Yep - I was always very careful to keep my hands to myself when I was still working.

I recall my first stint working in the USA about 25 years ago. One of my male colleagues was telling me over a beer that the females in the office thought I was a snob because I never talked to them socially - was all business . I explained, to him, that I didn’t because of the rampant feminism and misandry in the USA at the time & didn’t want to get myself into trouble. He reported back to them and the reply was “This is Louisiana, we’re not interested in that NY & California BS - come talk to us” (American women love foreign accents).

However these days - touch a female colleague on the shoulder and some of them will cry “assault / sexual harrassment”.......

I walk my two dogs each morning for a couple of miles on the country lanes of Norfolk. My 3 year old Collie is normally off the lead as he has full voice control, but the 6 month old Pollie is still a learner and very much on the lead.
Invariably, the only person I will meet is Alf and his retired Greyhound snug and resplendent in their matching hi-vis jackets.
"Arf these Bl@@ly drivers are blind!" asserts Alf, who retired to Norfolk from 'Ammersmiff, it was getting a bit naughty round there" many years ago.
Alf is well over six feet tall and well over eighty. He has a minor affliction (well two actually, a salon and a traveller) but it was my son who picked him up off the ground outside his house a couple of years ago after a coronary incident and called 999.
He now walks with a stick, which is waved in a cheery manner to those who show consideration for him and his very placid Greyhound.
I'm just glad that Norfolk still doesn't have more cars than you can shake a stick at.

I don't get it...

Only 9 pages so far? Tut tut this forum is slacking lately :)

I don't have pets but I know a lot of people who do and they treat them as part of the family. So, if someone makes rude comments about a family member, I wouldn't expect anyone to stand by and take it, especially if they have some sort of medical condition. She clearly was a bully who can dish it out but not take it back. It's not about fat shaming, but she needed to be reminded that it was none of her business, which seems to happen a lot IMO.

I’m actually quite shocked at the support shown to the OP, I wonder how many have shown this thread to their wife/girlfriend/mother?

A little levity was needed.......
That GP with the pancake on it's head is cute, but it's a pretty amateurish effort at levity. What we really needs is a dog with doughnuts on it's bonce.

And now, back to the thread.........

It was a unpleasant situation all round.

I am fully aware my response was not nice and i gained no pleasure doing it.

You are not wrong that I would not have liked it done to my wife.

I did not post here to receive support.

With hindsight would I have done the same, no.

But I still would have made some sarcastic comment about her ignorance including pointing out my own ignorance of horses including her weight.

She could just have easily made the same comment to one of the elderly dog walkers who's dogs are the only thing in their lives which probably would have been really upsetting for them.

So if my short sharp shock helps her behaviour in the future it was not all in vain.

My final comment is this.

200 yards down the road from her house there is a Gypsy Puppy farm. The owner, when not actually in jail, has form for threatening behaviour with shotguns on his neighbours. I wonder is she ever said a comment to him about his treatment of the dogs ?

My comment was aimed at those that thought what you did was great.

I have shown it to Caroline.

She is a horse rider, dog owner (and Psychologist ) so probably quite well placed to form an opinion 👍😁

1 ,she would probably have said something sarcastic about wearing a towel whilst being nailed to a cross
2 ,The OP probably would have enjoyed poking her leg
Fixed that for you, no need to thank me, glad to have been of service.

Why ? If someone for no reason whatsoever decides to belittle you then why not give some back. It's called sticking up for yourself !
Don’t be silly Harry, the OP is contrite but you keep on fuelling the fire, there is no place in decent society for shouting at women and poking and prodding them, imagine it was your Mrs on the horse, you’d be furious.

Exactly. Last summer, I went to some shops on a busy main road and was lucky that a disabled space was free and not taken up by someone without a badge (as is the usual case). As I got out of the car, I heard a voice from inside the tattoo shop which I was parked outside...a guy was talking to his mates saying 'don't you have it when people park in the disabled bays' and was effing loudly obviously indirectly at me. I ignored him until he shouted 'w*nker'. I was with the wife and I stopped, turned around and asked him what his issue was. He asked if I had a badge and I said yes to which his face dropped as he looked stupid in front of his mates. There were about 4 of them in the shop and his mates just kept quiet knowing he was wrong but my wife was scared in case they kicked off as I was on my own. He tried to justify his actions by saying 'oh I hate it when people park here without a badge' to which I replied 'so do I' and offered him to come outside and look at my badge if he wishes. by this time there were about 10 people who were looking to see what was going on and he eventually said ah that's ok then and I walked off. A passer by said 'what an idiot, just because you're not elderly doesn't mean you don't have disabilities' to which I replied 'yes, but I get it often so used to it now'.
He was a bully who just because he was a big guy loved to spout his mouth expecting people to just take it, well not me. Hopefully he will think twice next time and won't judge people or bully them.

I don't condone shouting at anyone for no reason, or poking/prodding them whether they are male or female. If it was my Mrs, she would not have made remarks like that about someone's dog or about how they care for them. If she did, then she would have been in the wrong and I would have told her that she should have kept quiet. I wouldn't have accepted the poking though

You probably don't care but a true insight into my character which probably has a bearing on the thread.

I am not a good husband. As mentioned before my wife has a tendency to write cheques her **** can't cash. Whenever incidents happen with her the first thing that crosses my mind what has she done now ? Not oo I must rush to her defence. So read into that what you want and whether or not it has relevance !

Anyway the thread is going nowhere so would probably do us all a favour if it was closed

For me, the thread has evolved from your original post which I feel you regret a little, my objection is the guys that insist on supporting the opening post which, I’m sure, was written in anger.
