Is it like this all the time? New here, and I've never known bickering amongst fellow enthusiasts like this before on other forums? I've read a couple of threads over the last day and found similar. Very odd.

Welcome to the forum. There is a VERY broad range of members on this forum. There are a few rather narrow (and not too bright...) minds on here, admittedly, and it does get a bit puerile sometimes, but don't let that put you off; the vast majority are friendly and helpful, and there is lots of interesting and useful information. The mods keep the bad language down, so the insults don't get too ripe, but the banter can be fairly lively.

I've been on here for nearly two years, and have had one or two 'exchanges of views' with other members, but it hasn't spoiled my enjoyment of the forum one whit. If you want a quiet life, though, don't post anything that the fast boys may interpret as criticism; some of them can be VERY aggressively defensive.

Dhard does seem to be a one-off, though; as on any public forum, he's entitled to his views, but they generally seem to attract nothing but excoriation. There are times when I can't help feeling sorry for him, and wonder why he does it.

The problem is some members have not got the intelligence to realise that Mercedes spend millions pounds aday engineering there cars to max standards possible in terms performance / safety . There that delude they buy cheap after market kits from two -bit company's operating from a lock up believing that they know more about the car than mercedes ...

no one said weistec in this case knew better than mercedes they sure know how to make a car go fast !

As always Dan is correct in his superior knowledge of all that is Weistec, or any other 2 bit Company working from a "Lock up"

What he has obviously forgotten to mention is that Mercedes, or even AMG, only engineer their cars to a certain level, to enable ALL countries to benefit with various different fuels from country to country and different climates, and not "Max Standards" as Dan states. A little hiccup by Dan but no doubt he realised that once he posted his remarks.....

What Weistec, Eurocharged, Renntech, Brabus etc do is engineer stronger and more resilient parts which in turn enable the copious amounts of power a few of us have managed to produce through fine tuning etc

I agree that it's not for everyone but for those of us that do modify, it sure is fun

35K spent on mine on cheap after market kits..... I must be really deluded
And worse still if I had gone to Halfords (they do the same boy racer stuff, so you say) i could have had a buy 2 get 1 free

If you honestly believe that mercedes deliberately engineer there cars to lesser level after spending years design them and millions developing them so other company's with no association with Mercedes can then claim to engineer better cars your even more delude than I thourght you must be the most gulabile custermer weistec have had they see you comeing a mile away ....

If I remember correctly from the AMG factory tour, they started off in a garage with a couple of enthusiasts...

As a benchwarmer for this thread, a spectator if you will, I would suggest, politely and respectfully, that your point of view would hold greater credibility if you used syntax, grammar and correct spelling.
