Finally found it - C32 Deposit down

In fact, an LSD is one thing I will looking at in the near future. First thing I want to do is to ensure reliability, such as:
1. Johnson CM30 IC pump (rad is a Behr already installed)
2. Oil pot (minimise oil deposits on the air intake)
3. Air pump solution and relay (both currently functions)
4. Verify current/battery drain from front seat ECU (currently no drain and functioning)
5. Larger S/C intercooler (for use in hotter climates)

Then the first real mods I would like to be:
1. Brakes and lines
2. Suspension, coils, and linkages
3. Ignition wires
4. LSD
5. Air intake and fillters
6. Pulleys and maybe ECU remap

and finally, estetics bodywork (paint) and lights.

I have a long list .....

Good to know you have picked up you car and have already found out how much fun it is. There is too much snow and ice on the ground to have much fun round here.

In winter mode (W) the car starts in second, unless you floor it, to reduce wheelspin. In summer mode (S) the car starts in first.

The acceleration is addictive and I find myself taking her out just for a quick blast if I don't have time for a proper run.

Enjoy ownership and let me know when you consider the lsd mod.

Good to see it at last. Look like you have got yourself a beauty there.

Thanks Trainer,

Well it has a quite a few stone chips and other chips/marks to the bodywork and in places that I cannot fathom how it could have happened. For example on the rear roof spoiler sides adjacent to the 3rd stop lamp there are a number of scratches down to the plastic. There is a crack on the underside of the left skirt, probably happened when going over a kerb too fast. This will need to be repaired at some point.

Then, all the alloys need to refurbished (can't really see them in the pictures). It is obvious the previous owner did not drive with any care with many kerbing incidents, or could not have cared less.

But, it is rare and with low'ish mileage (85k km), one previous owner (now 2), FMBSH, Designo interior (rarer still), and it is for keeps and fun!

I have stone chips and alloys to refurb. As the car is now officially a weekend car it will be getting more TLC and the annual mileage will drop to 3-4k. I am on 78k miles to date so it will be a low mileage example in a few years.

Do you switch time between Siena and Cheshire or live mostly in one?

oooh I do love those C32 estates :D

I really like the interior too :thumb:

And take it easy on the Autostrada

I was dividing my time between Cheshire and Siena for a few years, with work allowing to do that. The last 5/6 years I spend most of the time in Siena and a son now about to start school.

Hello Marty,

The interior is the rare Designo option. I do not think many C32s had the option chosen.

Oh, Autostradas (motorways) well yes, especially when in the mountains :D

Ciao! Ciao!

I think you have done really well. Like the car a lot. The minor chips/scrapes you describe are pretty much par for the course in Italy. Did you have to travel far to find it? I think the reg plate indicates it was not local to Siena.
Do you know of a good SMART repairer in your area? Have tried to find one in Tuscany/Umbria without success. Perhaps there is a gap in the market for someone.

Thanks GP801.

So true in Italy regarding stone chips. UK lament of its roads, here in Italy it is generally a lot worst. I presume you are frequent visitor, possibly a home in Italy, looking at your profile.

With regards to SMART repairers, I do not think it is known. Speaking with my friend and bodyshop owner, even he does not know what a SMART repair is.

We spend part of the year in our place in Cevoli (approx 90mins from Siena). Long term plan is to live there in 5 years or so. Got to improve my italian first.
Currently keep the 124 on uk plates and return it to the uk once a year for MOT etc. Looked at registering it locally but insurance cost was astronomical compared to the uk.

Likewise with my TVR, I also keep it on UK plates. The Italian insurance and registration is a total state funded rip-off.

Oh, Cevoli, you are located in a really nice forestry area just north of Pistoia towards the Tuscan and Emiliano Appennine mountains. There some wonderful driving roads up there. I am located near San Gimignano, a small town called Casole d'Elsa, 30km from Siena.

Allora, ci sentiamo! Ciao!

ps. the car was a one owner from Padova, Treviso. Well spotted!

There are several Cevolis. We are between Volterra and Pisa. Near Lari. It only shows on a large scale map. Not far from you at all.
Next trip planned for end of feb but the 124 will stay in uk until easter. Ive been caught in dreadful blizzards in winter so not going to attempt a winter run in the foreseeable future. I will send you a PM nearer to the time. Would be nice to meet a fellow enthusiast in Italy.
Nigel

Let me know if you are going to have a GTG in Italy and i might be able to persuade my wife to have a run over. Will need to hire a petrol tanker to follow though.
