That repair might have cost you a grand but that car was still cracking value for a 55 plate - you saved yourself a good £2k/£3k there I reckon.
I thought the blower was on the way out on mine when I first heard it start. Sounded like a dead animal was wedged in the engine or someone in great pain.
I'm thinking about the Vmax thing also but not sure about the £200 yet.
Read a post where someone likened the sound of an M3 under load to that of a skeleton having a w#nk in a dustbin. Would take the person in pain over that any day!
Vmax sounds like a good day out from what little I've gathered, but didn't know about the fee though. A bit steep when you factor in travelling. Food for thought though.
