Fitting Electric Climate Control Unit To W208 CLK

Hi guys,

I currently have the normal knobs for the fans and A/C in my car and one extra i really would like to have had is the electric climate control.

Is it possible to do a retro-type fitting here?
Is it simply the case of removing the current unit and fitting the climate control panel - as i am able to source 1 pretty easily.

From what I know I think that you can do this. many have done this on other models

It's more the 203s and 209s that are easy to convert.

As far as I am aware it can be a case of simply switching the 'dials' for the climate unit, and maybe possibly a star resync.

For the 208 it is NOT a simple process to update. Not only does it require a new heater core/matrix but all the trim panels, control units, vacuum components and loads of other bits and pieces. The 202, 210 and 208 use a physical connection to the heater core for aircon and heater dials, for climate control it's all electronic!

Best carried out by a specialist with access to a donor vehicle that's fully equipped.

Hi is it just a case of buying the digital climate control unit and changing them over. I have a 2003 W209, would I have to get one for that particular year, or would any one fit?
