Forged wheels

Nice one they certainly cant accuse you of being impatient wonder what the gift will be?
Any guesses?
Locking wheel bolts? wheelwax?

Tony.

Yes, the wait has been killing me
But I really want these wheels on the car so I couldn't do much but wait

Not sure what the gift package will be :dk:

He said that they didnt have any locking wheel bolts of the correct length so he will send some on to me. He asked me to make sure the bolts he is sending with the wheels are the correct length first and then he will send some lockers of the same length.

Possibly wheel wax :dk:

I'm thinking claymore.... I'll open it at arms length....

lol :D

LOL!

Glad to hear its all come now come together Rash, look forward to Pic's mate.

Hey Ricky :thumb:

Yeah, we're getting there :thumb:

I'll be spending a while waxing them before I put them on the car but I'll post up some pics tomorrow evening.

:thumb:

On the comms front weren't there occasions when they said they would call you back - and didn't!

I can understand that they aren't always available to give you regular updates but they should always "do what they say they will do" and call you back when they say they will :D

Hey Steve :thumb:

Yes, unfortunately, there were several occasions when I didn't get calls or replies to emails

Therefore it weakens James argument about communication!

I think we had different ideas of how much communication was deemed acceptable.

But yes, not receiving calls when I was told I would, along with not receiving replies to emails was very frustrating.

But I think my frustration (and possible impatience) stemmed from the set back caused by the factory. The turn around time was supposed to be 3 weeks and in that time, I was chilled because I knew the timescale I was dealing with. Although in that time, I did have quite a few queries that I wanted to run by them. This meant ringing them quite often which I think irritated them.

I understand now that they get extremely busy, but I really think they should have been more eager to be there for me, from a supplier-customer point of view. Especially considering the value of the purchase.

In weeks 3-7, I perhaps grew impatient and more sensitive to the whole situation, letting every little thing bother me. I quite happy to admit this because I know how I can be.

I think all in all it was abit of both from both sides.

But I'm keen to look forward now, and not back.

Wheels are finally in transit to me

The only hurdle now, is to check them over when they arrive, check the wheel bolt lengths and get them on the car to make sure they fit ok.

Then I can chill and enjoy having them on the car .

:thumb:

If they are that busy they should employ someone who can look after the communication side of there business,

Ok, the wheels have arrived!

Delivery driver decided to make my drop first as he had trouble with a couple of his other drops.

Had to sneak out of the office to tend to the delivery and to unpack and give the wheels a careful but quick once over.

They were packaged very well and arrived safely. Phew!

BC centre caps arrived nicely packaged and they even sent me a nice BC badge for the boot lid if I want to use it.

Michelin's look awesome and the rear are pretty damn wide!

I had to resist the urge to start cleaning the wheels down and commence with the wax! :D
Might have to try and wangle the afternoon off! :D

The gift package was not a claymore mine! lol...

It was a nice bottle of bubbly which was a nice thought :thumb:

However, one snag....

I poked a wheel bolt through one of the lug holes in a rear wheel and a front wheel and the thread pokes out the back of the wheel about 20mm, which I think is too much

I phoned Projex and mentioned this.

They said that they should be ok and that I should test fit the wheels and see if the bolts catch on the brake mechanism on the rears.

I will try this, but I have a feeling the bolts are too long.

Also, does anyone know where I can get some sticky-sided felt that I can put on the necks of each bolt to stop them scratching the lug holes?

Edit:

Halfords say they have a few types of sticky felt.
Will bop down there later and grab some.

Not sure when I'll be able to test fit the wheels.
I'll probably spend tonight waxing them and then get on the case tomorrow.

Just hope the wheels themselves fit after spending an evening waxing them!

Shoulders of the Michelin's look quite beefy so I'm hoping the rears will have enough clearance under the arches

Are we going to get a sneak peak of the wheels;)

Lol,

I'll take some snaps after work :thumb:
My first impressions were that they looked quite plain, but I think that's because I'm used to looking at my multi-spoke rims over the last 3+ years.

The more I looked over these new rims, the more and more I liked them

I'll take pics later :thumb:

Tomorrow at MB World perhaps!?

No, I probably won't have time.

I'll be carefully test-fitting a couple of wheels in the morning.

I have a funny feeling the bolts they sent are too long.

I've had quite a bit of experience with wiling out bolt lengths in the past and I think they'll be too long.

They stick out the back of the wheel waaaaay more than any bolt I've used before.

I think my current wheel bolts only stick out the back of my wheels about 7-10mm

20mm sounds about right

I really hope so bud, but they protrude alot more than my current bolts.

I hope I'm wrong because it'll mean that I can't fit the wheels on the car until I get replacement bolts :wallbash:
