Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Any else remember the God Senna crashing at Monaco whilst leading on his own by a country mile...

The rest of the finishers made him look decidedly average that day...
After making a bit of a school-boy error, he slipped away in a proper sulk straight to his apartment just up the road...

Hamilton is a more professional all round driver than Schumi and Senna. However, the FIA and stewards wouldn’t allow drivers to get away with what they did back in the day.

I think the best thing about Senna was his off track charity foundations. 👏👏

Another point to consider on the ‘star is really the car’ issue: In F3, Martin Brundle put serious pressure on Senna throughout the season including beating him at Silverstone. In F1, Martin for whatever reason never really got a seat in a top car and enjoyed the corresponding level of success. Whereas Senna got himself into some decent machinery, winning races and championships.

Having gone on to be World Endurance Champion including a Le Mans win, Martin could (can) clearly pedal a car. Just never got the drive in F1.

Isn't there an element of 'beating the engineers' to working your way up the grid in terms of cars? By that I mean the engineers will say "this car is capable of lapping in x" and the more a driver goes below x the further up he goes?

Perhaps the more they go above x the more their seat costs dk[1].gif

Might not be true, but I heard that when Valentino Rossi was considering a switch to F1, he tested with Ferrari at Fiorano. The engineers told him the times the car was capable of and try as he might he could go no faster than their prediction. In fact the harder he tried, the slower he got. The lap times were as predicted. He apparently felt he couldn’t make a difference and decided to stick with two-wheels.

Is being a great driver, being in a great team down to being in the right place at the right time.
Over the past 40 to 50 years all of the so called great champions, ( Senna, Prost, Lauda, Schumacher, Vettel and Hamilton to name a few ) were also in the fastest cars of that era.
If Brundle had got a Williams drive during their great days would he have been a champion. There are and were some brilliant drivers that never really got the chance in that special team of the time.

To some extent yes. Quite often the best teams go after the best drivers, best engineers, best engines, best designers etc. If the best driver is already under contract somewhere else, for example Senna at McLaren, an excellent team such as Williams at the time can do quite well with a driver that is not quite the best e.g. Mansell.

What a rising star this guy is...

I very much hope his driving improves on his display at the weekend. Late weaving about to block competitors is very poor IMHO.

Apart from wondering why there was a "woman's chest on the back seat", I've yet to hear whether it was 'Marzipan' or the hand of God that reached out. ;)

And yet another entitled little rich-kid enters the world of F1. Not for the first time and of course not likely to be the last. It’s the lack of respect for everything and everyone I find the most annoying .

Isn't that just the action of any male of that age, out with his mate and girlfriends?
Yea so he's stupid for putting it out there online, but is it that bad? Really?

And I don't see form that video a lack of respect for everyone and everything.

I am also not condoning his behaviour.

But lads can be lads, as girls can be girls.

Well, only he knows. She certainly didn't look impressed (and rightly so), even more that he was recording it. Why the hell people feel the need to post stuff like that on Social media??? Unacceptable behaviour, famous or not!

Do you really need an answer to that question? Really?

Do we know its not his girlfriend?
Is it his girlfriend?
She's maybe not impressed because he's filming?
Its all blurred out, you don't known if she's laughing or horrified.
You have no idea if she's impressed or not.

Yea he's a d!ck for videoing and putting it out there, can't argue with that, but without any facts and that small snippet, I dont think its fair to judge him as some have.

I'll admit I'm wrong when and if some more facts come to light, but on that small piece of factually footage I've seen I just think he's a normally young male out with his friends.

Had she been to the police and had him arrested for anything?

I think the big clue was her trying to stop him with one hand and giving him ‘the bird’ with the middle finger of the other.
She was hardly fighting him off! She didn't push his hand away at all, just the finger.

The finger was to the camera not to him....playing up to the camera?

To me it looks like It's playful sexual banter between consenting adults.

Not for public viewing I agree, but that would be all.

Well at least we know he can drive one handed...and look over his shoulder to check a blind spot...
