Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

On the Lewis front, very strange for him to be wearing a different shirt to the rest of the drivers.
Sends the wrong message in my opinion and just shows that he is a.................

Sky Documentaries - The Race to Perfection

Just seen it and downloaded the first one to have a watch, first few minutes and very interesting.

Until now I was unaware there was a ghetto in Stevenage.

Thanks.

‘Black kid from the ghetto’ is more emotive than ‘Mixed race child from the former council estate’.,.

Never let the facts get in the way and all that...

Current owner of the £1M six bedroom and four bathroom house LH lived in when he was 12 takes umbrage at it being described as a slum - "He's got a bloody nerve!"

The FIA has made plenty of bloopers with their 'End Racism' message. From mis-timed pre-race gestures to the difference in T Shirts etc etc. If there are no rules, you can't abide by them. It was all rushed in and not put in place with proper rules. The whole thing made F1 look like a mess.

I would consider LH crossed the borderline of bringing his team into disrepute. Frankly I wish they would all just concentrate on the sport. Perhaps the FIA could ban all political expression from the start of next season which would put a timely end to it without appearing to be racist.

I wonder if a Ferrari driver would have gotten away with that degree of independence without a reprimand.

I think mosty of us can sympathise with what LH is trying to do.

However the focus on BLM manages to give the impression that when law enforcement meets the public and people die that only black suspects get shot. This masks some wider questions in the US - the number of people of all races who get shot is extraordinary by UK standards - and the number of police officers who die each year is also extraordinary by UK standards.

I though LH's T-shirt with 'Arrest the Cops' went too far. And I think if he really thought about the situation in the US - and reflect on the recent gun violence perpetrated against the police - that he might be concerned that a narrow campaign of 'them' and 'us' against the police isn't going to help - and there's a risk that it makes things worse. Stereotyping the police with such a message is not dissimilar to wearing racist message.

And he’s in the tabloids today taking it easy on a mega-yacht owned by the man of morality himself........Phillip Greene, the man who sells cheap tat made in sweat-shops across Asia.

Ha ha, LH the eco warrior!! From his jet to a mega-yacht. Keep it real Lewis.

One has to wonder if at the next race the other drivers will consider if they should wear the shirts they were supposed to all be wearing as "one" together.

Certainly would peeve me off big time if I seen one of the drivers going it alone and I'd be thinking what!

The question that has to be asked is if whether wearing such a tee shirt in such circumstances [ time and place ] advances the BLM cause in the eyes of those you want to win over to that point of view. If innacted in such a way that it generates as much controversy as support then perhaps it was ill judged? Not the sentiment- but how it was expressed.

Yep! Death is almost a certainty if you jump off the top of the current F1 rule book, additional rules and clarifications should make it a dead cert....

I love the way Lewis Hamilton drives and I’m a big fan of his, I was surprised to see him wearing this shirt and had never heard of this lady.

I did a Google search and read a couple of posts to appraise myself.

It is a dangerous road to ask for the arrest of the police involved without knowing what actually happened, he is pre judging the outcome of something that is still being investigated.

I personally would rather famous people in sport stayed out of these matters.
