Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Slightly OT but did anyone see the FIA Karting incident from a few days ago? A 23 year old driver called Corberi (who's father owned the circuit) crashed out and blamed a driver for it. He then threw his bumper at the driver and then attacked him in the pit lane area after the race. His father joined in too! Shocking behaviour and drivers have called for him to be banned for life.

Disgusting behaviour. A life ban may be a bit harsh at his age but he certainly deserves punishing. His Dad should know better and is a great role model - not. Ban his Dad from the pit lanes for a couple of years by all means.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

He has since apologised and stated he will never race again. The FIA have not yet decided his fate but a lifetime ban could be on the cards.

Looks unlikely that Kimi will get to practice against the next generation of Schumacher...

Yeah I believe from reports he has actually banned himself on reflection

Mercedes have flown in 6 new team members after 2 existing test positive for COVID-19. Weather is looking awful too.

Looks like FP2 won't take place either

I don't think a life ban is harsh. He absolutely deserves it in my opinion. What if the guy had crashed as a result and seriously injured himself or someone else

His father should face charges too

Disgraceful behaviour

Well the way the weather is going with us getting wet weather from the southwest ,it means that the track will get it tomorrow as well, maybe it will make it very interesting if the teams have to race the car straight out of the pits for qualifying.

Ironically, isn't it Renault that will have to supply RB?
There are apparently a number of options for RB, one being the purchase of Hondas race department.

I think there will be many options available with Renault more than likely being one of the last of them. Interesting to see how this plays out in the coming months.

I wonder if the FIA has a plan B for today and tomorrow if the weather is like yesterday. Pretty bonkers not too. Maybe bring the hospital to the track? I'm sure they done this in China a few years ago because of the smog.

Edited to add that the weather looks better today - Webcams

I think there were alternatives being considered, but as you say it looks as though the weather is improving. The wind speed has increased enough to move the fog.

FP3 is due at 11 so I'd guess a confirmation will follow soon.

I'd be surprised to see RBR take on the Honda race department and embark on engine development. That's a big ticket item to bring in house, financially (initial purchase price and then operational costs), technically and politically (internal politics).

Clearly Ferrari have always operated as an integrated team and Mercedes by incorporating Brixworth (Ilmor) are also nominally integrated. Not an easy gig getting it all pulling in the same direction.

Just curious. In the event they can’t do qually today and the weather is bad on Sunday morning but Improve for the race start time. How does the grid line up? Result from previous race?
