Formula 1 2022 (Will Contain Spoilers)

Clearly its not RB or MV supporters I’m talking about.
The discussion amongst my circle of friends is that F1’s credibility is in tatters after a constant stream of PR disasters, coupled with the FIA’s equally disastrous and unsurprising rulings, turning punters away en masse. It would seem that nobody I know likes a cheat. Simple really.
Yep I agree that nobody likes a cheat yet we see it happing all the time in this country's most popular game and the stands are never empty.

100s of 1000s turn up every F1 race weekend and millions watch it on TV.

142,00 turned up at Silverstone this year.

Do you think there will be any less next year?

You seem selective about what you believe when it comes to his statements.
No, I just noted that Horner is banging on about "reputational damage"

Whether I believe him or not is irrelevant.

I do, however, believe that RBR has suffered reputational damage as a result of their failure to keep within the cost cap.

I can only speak about my own experience, and that of my circle of friends.
If it were my business and F1 is a business, I wouldn’t be happy to think any of my punters were disillusioned, and clearly many would seem to be.

The silence here is deafening. ;)

Another win for Max. Well done but I’d rather have seen Ferrari on the podium.

Interesting comments from Alonso last week:

"Max's titles are worth more than Hamilton’s. "I have a lot of respect for Lewis but it's different when you win seven world championships having only had to fight against your team-mate.”

Alonso is just sour as Hamilton beat a 2time champ in his rookie season.

Strange strategy from Mercedes. If they went long on the mediums and soft i think they would of won

I like Alonso he is a good driver but LH is better. He probably is sour but I agree with what he said.

Yep MB made a mistake with the tyres.

Not one of the best F1 races, however if you spool back to the 'good ole Mansell' days there were just two cars on the lead lap...
Whoever was the bloke playing Lando's team mate , and where has he been for the last few years?:dk:
I'd say he was as good as Hamilton on his day. Just has many less 'days'!

You believe he is telling the truth when talking about reputational damage yet, choose to disbelieve him when he says they made an honest mistake.

So is he a liar or not?

Can’t have your cake and eat it.
That's right Rory, people are either total outright liars and spout nothing but lies, or only speak the virtuous truth and would never deviate from uttering anything but the truth.

Much like my comment here 🤪

Quoting me out of context & being disingenuous. You should become a journalist. ;)

People seem to be very selective in what they choose to believe usually, making a choice based on what suits their personal agenda or what they think will help them win an argument.

For anyone who was puzzled at the uncharacteristic lack of input from RBR on Sky Sports' F1 coverage yesterday, I've just learned that it was down to Ted Kravitz:

I seen that on the US notebook.

Hey if they don't like the truth then i happily won't listen to them whinging on

Was refreshing not to have to listen to Horner

Not a great race but on a positive, that was the second race in succession that Lee was in charge with Billy commentating. On CH4 highlights.
Lee is a great improvement on Jones the Hyper. Where was he, anyone know?
Billy Monger has matured in to a very good race commentator.

I think it belittles RBR and MV.

If they react that way it suggests to me that they have doubts about the title.

If I was in their position I'd say that as a team that RBR earned it - at the start of the race MV was championship leader - that Lafitte caused the safety car situation - and that the only criticism of RBR is that they lobbied for the race to be restarted - not their fault that the race director left it so late and did it in the way he did. In a race you make your own luck by being in the right place at the right time.

If they can't get over that then they have a problem.

Undoubtedly Mercedes appeared to have got their tyre strategy " wrong." However it would be a mistake to think that the tyre strategy would be effectively the same for all teams. Presumably Mercedes would have worked out their particular strategy during practice and qualifying. The implication being that both the hard and soft tyres would go off after certain number of laps----in their cars. However as the race progressed became obvious this was not going to happen so badly in the other teams. In fact that may have already been obvious to other teams after practice. George Russell twigged this during the race and suggested changing tyre strategy. While this may have improved the teams performance it may still not have been enough. My feeling is that despite predictions that due to high altitude Mercedes were in with a chance on this occasion, the Red Bull cars superior aerodynamics while not conveying so much superior top speed here may still have mitigated their tyre wear thus winning them the race anyway?

Indeed. I was proper chuffed for F1’s fun guy yesterday. Definitely made up for the somewhat clumsy mistake.

I’ll really miss Danny Ric next season. What a shining light he has been in the paddock all these years. Real shame he couldn’t have matched Landos points whilst at McLaren. 😞
