Indeed. I was proper chuffed for F1’s fun guy yesterday. Definitely made up for the somewhat clumsy mistake.

I’ll really miss Danny Ric next season. What a shining light his been in the paddock all these years. Real shame he couldn’t have matched Landos points whilst at McLaren.

Ricciardo has had a strange season, often way behind Norris and seemingly unable to adapt to the car.
Then he has a cracking drive in Mexico and you wonder why?
He will be missed next season with far less talented drivers getting a seat due to Daddy or the money they bring in.
Hopefully he can get a competitive seat in 2024 but I have my doubts at 36+ years old by then.
He should have stayed at Alpine

Excellent drive from Max in what is a far superior car to anything else on the grid. Even Sergio in the same car can't keep pace.
Mercedes finally showing some form but poor tyre choice cost them.
Ferrari seem to be going backwards as the season progresses. Once equal to, or beating RB, they are now fighting Mercedes for 2nd place in the constructors championship. Poor strategy and mistakes have cost them badly this year.

We said the same. Or even stayed at RB with Max (albeit as 2nd driver). At least he was already in sink with the dynamics of the RB as it seems he has really not gelled with the McLaren (as Carlos warned him about).

Agreed Ant. But had he stayed at RB, he would have needed to pick up plenty of points to support the team or he would have been cast aside.
Only Lando seems to have got to grips with the McLaren of late and you have to wonder why.
Alonso left as the Honda engine at the time was uncompetitive, Sainz struggled and Danny Ric has had an awful time in the car.
All excellent drivers but no form in the car. You have to point the finger at McLaren for the bad results.

I agree. McLaren have let an alarmingly high number of great drivers slip through their fingers. I’m half expecting Lando to be lured away from them unless they come good by the time his contract is up.

I note that CH deliberately mis-quotes Ted Kravitz in order to claim victim status:

"Some of the commentary is fair but some pieces are sensationalist, and saying we robbed anyone of the championship, as was said in Austin, is going too far."

Kravitz did not say that RBR or MV had robbed Hamilton of the championship. He was clear that it was the decision made by Masi that "robbed" Hamilton.

The hand of god dragged on because video evidence showed it for what it was - a travesty of justice with the perpetrator eventually admitting he cheated. So there was deliberate hand ball and the referee made a mistake in allowing the goal

There's no chance Red Bull will admit to anything because it wasn't their fault, only the referee stuffed up.

A gentleman’s sentiment, and one I’d agree with.
I have a very close friend who has raced in good company over the years, and the higher level you get to, the list of gentlemen disappears. In fact I’d go as far to say that some would seemingly run over their mother to win.

Even still i would of wanted to have been a true champion rather than a wooden one.

This year yes he has deserved it and this is his true 1st championship. His 2021 one will always be seen a sham.
