Hi to All,
Have just joined today what has been a great site for me as a guest so to speak, so good that I have now registered finally with you.
Anyway after reading about problems that people are having reference to Radio Code for the Mercedes Audio 10 CD (This is an Alpine Model made for Mercedes and mostly fitted to the A Class W168 1998 TO 2004, Model) may stand corrected here.
Anyway as many of you have said, all these companies advertising that they can get Radio Codes, then you put in the 14 Digit Code (they ask for) which begins with AL (Then) 12 Numbers (do not put the B at the end) on this Audio 10 Model MF2910. Cd Player
Only to find they may have taken your money BUT cannot get the Code OR takes forever and still no joy.
The ANSWER is: Phone your local Mercedes Dealer, (parts department) tell them your details, you will need the AL code/serial number which means you will have to get the stereo out, you will find a white sticker with lots of information on it BUT NOT the AL Serial number BUT if you look below this to the left you will see it stamped into the metal casing, remember you only need the AL and the next 12 digits only. You will also be asked for your VIN/Chassis number and the Reg number.
Tell the Dealer that a Thread on MB Club Website has recommended this service, and Hey Presto they will give you the Radio Code for FREE.
Takes them about 2 minutes to do, Super Superb Service by Mercedes Benz Dealership.
Thats why I have a few Mercedes in my Garages and love them.
Note: To get the Radio out you need 2 special tools to slot in at the bottom left/right corners (you will see 2 slots), the tools can be bought from Mercedes Benz OR as I did make my own out of a discarded old credit card, if you go to you tube and search for Mercedes Radio removal there you will see how to make the tools needed.
Hope this has helped one and all.
Regards J
