Hello gents.

Upon inspecting my recent abs sensor problem I noticed that the reading kept falling to 2km/h every few seconds and setting the abs esp defective codes. Code was front right speed sensor visually inspect component.

Pulled the hub and noticed the rear seal is missing rubber. Is this rear rubber seal the abs ring I've heard it's magnetic.

I've seen replacement rear seals for £10 will this likely fix my problem the bearing and hub are perfect just the abs problem.

I think they are cheaper from mb, at least you hopefully get the right one.

Yes . but be carefull putting it in .:thumb:

I got mine (for a W211) for MB, tapped them in with a large flat piece of wood and a hammer and I've had no problems.

So which bit is magnetic? Behind the rubber seal?

None of it is magnetic, there are small metal inserts in the seal at pre set intervals and it's these passing the ABS sensor that the system measures.

This kind of thing built into the seal
