My local MB dealer has quoted £521.52 to fix a fuel leak, Parts to be used: pipe clips £3.89, poly "v" belt £24.03, coolant hoses £8.52 & £13.52.
Alll the rest is labour and VAT job timed at 4.5hrs.
This has got to be a rip off! any suggestions?

Going rate for a dealer...... Its not bad price either. The pipes that are leaking are probably the most common that do. I would ask for good will on the fuel pipes. The diesel leaks onto the coolant pipes and belt and damages them. It probably been leaking fuel for ages.

I'll say its a ripoff! They've just quoted book times there I reckon.

If you're not DIY-inclined, ask the forum for a good indie in your area. The price will be half that.
