Hi guys i recently had all my glowplugs replaced on my E300 TD with 606 engine by indy they work fine but while doing the job he broke the plastic nipple that the injector leak off pipe goes to on the fuel filter housing he did a temp repair so i could use the car till we got the replacement part. I got the part today and find that it comes with the plastic fuel line with banjo union attatched, to replace the pipe does the inlet manifold have to come of again to get to the banjo bolt at the back of the diesel pump or can one cheat..George..

i'm afraid you'll have to remove the manifold to fit the new pipe properly. you may just be able to access it from underneath if you have access to a ramp but i suspect it would be easier to just whip off the manifold again. It doesnt take long to take it off.

Also be carefull tying the banjo bolt to the pump, its alloy and its easy to mess the treads...

Also be careful with the banjo itself. It's actually a one way valve and costs in excess of thirty of your quids.

Thanks for the replys yes the mech payed for the pipe only £10.20. And he removed manifold also for compensation i already had a cam cover gasket and o-rings to fix oil leak and he fitted them also and all new leak off pipes all for the princely sum of £88. Happy boy me. So on way home tonight i went to the M74 and got the exhaust manifold well heated to burn off the oil that had leaked onto it..George..

Nice one. Glad it worked out for you.
