Gatwick valet parking

Just to put it in perspective - I park my car on the road everyday...

As for somebody else driving it - somebody else did 20,005 miles before I got my first chance....

I used the service on my honeymoon. Very efficient, very convenient. Don't worry. Same as any other service in any other sector, there will always be bad examples. You may well decided to bottle it and not take the car. Then, in a couple of months you take your car in for a service. Then their new technician rags it instead

Used North Terminal Gatwick 3 weeks ago - no problem at all. would use them again.

How about borrowing another vehicle you don't care about then and leave THAT in their care ? Leave your own car at home .

Pontoneer, i've done exactly that, taking the wifes Fiat Punto instead, i know its a mare to drive from Essex to Gatwick in the horrible little thing, but i'll be worrying all my holiday if i'd gone in mine. I hate loving and worrying about cars so much, think my next ones going to be a sruffy old mondeo or vectra.

Must use semi trained chimps at Gatwick then. Doesn't the car bong if you drive with the handbrake on?

They do, but obviously the chimps did not know what the sound meant.

I've used Garwick Valet Parking several times without any problems. Most of their drivers seem to be very mature and sensible.

Same here. I've used them quite a few times with many different vehicles without any problems at all.

The last car I left with them was an American 4X4, which I don't normally let anyone else drive at all, due to the size of it, and the fact it took me a year to find this one just how I wanted it:rolleyes: I just told myself the car's insured, and it was better leaving the car outside the Terminal door, rather than trying to get my family and bags on and off the shuttle bus!

I did have other, cheaper cars I could of taken - but what's the point in having them and leaving them at home, when any freak accident could happen there?

I just drop the family and all luggage off at the terminal and then go and park the car.

I have used Heathrow valet parking a lot and not had any problems. A couple of years ago I used the Gatwick valet parking and came back to find the rear passenger side door of my W124 E320 estate stoved in with a huge dent. At first, they tried to deny liability but eventually accepted liability and the car had to have a new door skin.
The problems still seem to be present at Gatwick valet parking as a business colleague recently used it to park his Lexus 450H - on return the rear bumper had a big dent in it. They are currently denying liabilty and trying to use the fuzzy CCTV pictures they take on checkin as evidence despite them showing no damage.
