gauging a goodwood trackday interest

Ricky are we fitting a compressor on my w210?lol

Sorry B, thought you had a W211, but if you have Mikes (MB Rochester)talents on track, his W210 on the French track day last October was really impressive, so all to do my friend, look forward to a chat;).

Long overdue.
Never too soon!:D
Too many holidays for Ricky this year!

Alex my friend, 1 x 7 week break off ill, and 1 week off watching Cheltenham, that's not too many holidays! Catch up with you very soon mate
:D
Marty! Not sure what's gone on with the phone thing, but it was switched off for a week whilst I was at Cheltenham, but sure we will catch up soon mate, been a while, hope your all well over there:thumb:

Lastly, to the guys going to the Goodwood track day tomorrow, please make sure you bring your driving license, a crash helmet, or hire one at Goodwood, and remember, arms and legs need to be covered if on track, IE: no shorts or T shirts,

C you guys in the morning, weather looks perfect!:bannana:

It looks like perfect weather for your track day, I plan to come over and watch from the sidelines, please introduce yourselves if you see me...

very friendly built like a brick $hithouse and greying ginger mane:D

Bloody hell Ricky, good call. I never normally carry my license, would have been a bummer to turn up and not get on track because of that! I'll go and look it out now :o

Lid, camera bracket, tyre pressure gauge. Full tank of gas. Check. Oh yeah, grandson, better not forget him, I did promise..

See y'all tomorrow!

Cheers,

Gaz

Hope to meet up and chat to a few of you tomorrow my mate Arthur is also coming along (I think) in his new secondhand SLK

I'll be there about 930/10 ish and managed to blag the decent camera from work :)

Great day today and thanks Ricky for getting us all motivated to get out and drive our cars. I hope everything is ok with yours and you got back ok?

Great company, great cars and great weather. What more could a man want....

It was good to meet you today, you certainly managed to make your way through the other cars. Your car sounded lovely as did the black E55 with the monster Brabus brakes.
Arthur the chap with me recorded you at 1.33 just before we left around three.
We were also impressed with the camera set-up in the SLK55.
Every time I go to see track days I have to slap myself and say don't buy a 2-11 you know you'll never use it and her indoors will moan.(again)

Thanks and good to meet you too. Took another second and a bit out of that and although light traffic it's till slowed you down over 5 laps I think I could of got into the late 20's.

Ricky's E55 sounds fantastic down the pit straight I agree.

P.s. Buy the 2-11

Enjoyable day Justin, great to see yourself, Henry, and Simon, whom I see on a more regular basis, and Gaz along with nephew Jake, hope you both had a great afternoon.
Albeit short conversations with all due to the track time being taken. I also had a first meet up with Ginger 55 and Lee from the PH site with numerous conversations with both, really good to meet you both
.

Justins and Benjys cars, GTS and R8, virtually the fastest cars there to day, and both looked, performed and sounded awesome, great to see you both again.

Thx for the kind words on my car, not in your league performance wise, but always good to be appreciated, it was a fun day, cut short by what turned out to be an injector 7 problem again, has happen before:mad: but at least I know what it is.

I look forward to seeing you all again at Goodwood on the June day, quiet a few more of us there on that day, so hopefully will be even more fun and entertainment, until June,

See you all then:bannana:

Ricky,

Glad you got back ok and know what the problem is. As you said a little less chat this time and more driving which I put down to having breaks that can handle track work.

Speak soon mate.

Good to see everyone yesterday, only half a day for us but it was a good 'un. Got three sessions in, but bottled the fourth as it was just starting to rain and I decided discretion was the better part of valour - bending the car at the last minute would have put a dampener on the whole affair!

Jake enjoyed it too - he's never been in an aircraft, so we reckon the 130+ on the back straight is probably the fastest he's ever been! He's my grandson BTW, not my nephew Ricky, I'm older than I look ;)

It did work out a little more expensive than I'd planned, having to buy a new lid on the way to the track, but at least I've got it for future use :o

The footage from the camera came out pretty well (apart from the one I deleted accidentally - doh!), I'll have a word with Goodwood to see if they'll waive their draconian publishing restrictions (it's hardly for commercial gain) and if so I'll post it somewhere.

Cheers,

Gaz

Sounds like you all had a good day. I will catch up with you guys in June unless anybody wants to come to Bedford tomorrow as I booked a late notice track day. Looks like it will rain tomorrow but I will have a go anyway.

Great day looking forward to catching up in June and I hope it's not washed out today?

Turned out well. The rain came around 3pm but I was cooked by then so it worked out.

Thank you mate, and is always good seeing you Ricky. Was a fantastic day and not much more can be said that all haven't said already. Great to see Simon again and even though for us its a been along time the last time we all got together it all felt like it was yesterday.

Thanks for the compliment I have to say being this was the first trackday I have done in the new car, the R8 Plus is certainly a league above my old model and was really pleased with the way it performed around Goodwood. I had also forgot just how beautiful that place is and how fast that track can be.

So looking forward to June now and seeing all you guys again for some fun and hopefully the sun shines again for us all :thumb:

Well I did manage to upload some video, it was taking forever in HD so I reduced the quality but you can all have a laugh at how slow I am.. :p

might come and join you Steve work permitting

I have had new belts, tensioners, turbo and pipework so I am hopeful of more than the 4 laps I had all day last time!

Just a month to go...

Any of you guys interested in a cars and coffee meet at the Old Orchard pub in Harefield on the 25th June 11-2pm? Car meet up and BBQ? Great cars, view and food.

Looking forward to the 18th by the way. I watched the lap record run from last year on YouTube that track looks crazy fast and scary as hell.
