After looking for ages, last week I found my wife a really nice 1996 124 E300 Diesel estate 7 seater, MB Tex, tow bar, service history no rust, no wear on interior.

I picked it up yesterday, my wife hates it and wants me to sell it, just because its green:crazy:

Am I missing something, does anyone else think green cars are unlucky:confused:

Being born in the country, years ago people said that green cars got mixed up in the hedge rows and not easily seen.

If this was a world wide issue green cars would never be offered by the makers.

What green is it

We live in a villiage, nearly all her driving is country lanes, she very nervous of driving after her friend got badly injured in a crash, and its dark green metallic

Then nothing wrong with that dark green, think of how many accidents there are with every other colour.

That dark green is almost black,, the in thing is black cars. Green is popular in France, and much of France is countrified

Got a 420SE for my wife....too long:( She's claimed the 500 The 420 has to go:devil:

There is no reason in many women!

But I think the trade has long considered green cars unlucky.

If you are worried about visibility just run with the side lights on. A few discrete fluorescent orange strips on the bumpers would help also if you can stand their appearance.

I've been banned from buying green cars too.

Its my own fault, I agreed to buy it without asking her first.

I was actually looking for a saloon with rear headrests and pass airbag to replace hers, when I had this offered at a price I couldnt refuse, I obviously should have.

At least I dont think I lose any money on it even though it'll have an extra owner on the log book.

Means I'm back looking for a car again though

Is the green, British Racing Green?

If so add some fast driving stripes along the length of the car

Green is unlucky because it is a "safe" colour in the human subconscious, unlike yellow or red for example and so the primitive parts of our brains can dull the reaction times by a fraction of a second for green cars.

It looks as though I'm not going to win this one:(

You just cant resist posting can you Television?

Quality, not quantity I always say.

By the look of your answer, I think thats its you that cant resist, as it does not even apply to the the post. My answer I genuinly thought of after I posted,As I also run a Volvo with driving lamps, but Grober had said it.

On many of my post I research, print off and Email, and some take a long time,, do you do that ???

No pleasing some ladies.

For what its worth, I like that colour.

YOU MUST REMEMBER........

These are the complete and unabridged rules for ALL married men...........

You must get the wife's approval on absolutely everything.
Preferably in writing or on recorded CCTV.

End of rules.
