Getting a hard time over a green car

My son and I have been looking for ANY car for his wife. As long as its not GREEN, WHITE or RED! Unfortunately all the cars which fit her other criteria are of one of those colours. We've told her to be realistic. After all she's not even paying for the thing, we are!

My wife wont ride in a green car................hmmm perhaps I ought to go buy one...:D

Seriously - I think you will find that colour does affect 2nd hand prices and green is not liked in the trade...

I have never ever understood peoples reactions to green cars...your wife is not the only one.

I think that some of the nicest colours offered by Mercedes are their darker shades of green.

My MGF was BRG    :D

When they made cars run with lights on in sweden, The crash rate droped 35%

So as some one else has said, Get her to run with lights

My MGF was BRG    :D

BRG was never an actual colour. It was just a shade of dark green and could vary slightly between marques and models and year.

The shade of green that Austin/Morris etc...etc....used for very many years was actually called Connaught Green. Still very popular with Morgans.
Here is an example............

Yes my son and I love the colour, my daughter and wife hate it:confused:

Phil
There may be some scientific reason for this.

They say men are somewhat colour blind. So perhaps they see it as a completely different shade to us?

My dad always seemed to end up with green cars, right from his Minor to his Granada (which I still own).

The only exception was his Mk II Cortina which was that 70s light blue, but lo and behold when the bonnet flew off it one day the only replacement in the scrapyard was, wait for it, green. Since then he always went for green cars, purposefully for reasons of good luck! "The last time I didn't have a green car, look what happened" etc...

My wife's and I's "real" cars have mainly been black, however, as she also steadfastly refuses green as an option. She's also not keen on riding in the Granada but I think that's more out of general embarrassment and fear of sea-sickness than anything superstitious!

I invested three years of my life into these green cars. They were unlucky enough to finish 1st and 2nd at Le Mans:D

My wife has happily driven the green cars she has been given over the years, but we did get black and white dogs on the understanding that the licence was cheaper....:o

Phil, I like green cars. So does my wife. PM me with the details. I may be interested if your wife doesn't change her mind...

My V6 Sharan was metallic green. When I came to sell it I did have one dealer who wasn't interested simply because of the colour. He only wanted silver, black, or blue.

The two green cars that I've had in my lifetime both had accidents, one of which was a write-off. An off duty policeman hit me but when it came to court, the traffic accident report from the police on the scene was "lost". I was found guilty because I was 19
