Sorry to hear about your loss.

As for time spent on mbclub... yes, I agree, any moment spent reading or writing about the inner workings of some machines from Stuttgart is a complete and utter waste of time.

But.... I would argue that time spent in the OT forum should be regarded simply as time spent with friends.

I for one will be sorry to see you go. We're be here, should you change your mind...

OP. Some of us read more than post. Some of us fear the internet warriors. Some of us do not have the in-depth knowledge. Some of us will miss your contributions.
Every one of us with an ounce of compassion wish you and your family peace at this horrible time.
 
Sincere condolences. I will miss your presence on the forum but respect your decision to leave.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your sister, the loss of a close family member never really heals.

As for leaving the forum, you can cut down your time here rather than leave, but you will know what is best for you. There is also an option to ignore members should you need/want to.

Clearly I don't fully understand all your reasons for why you are leaving the forum but i guess your decision is made and i wish you well for the future. I know how you feel as i lost my mother in law in March and my father in August so i know how too well the emotions you will be going through but for me this forum and some others that i frequent have actually helped me to come to terms with my loss and continue to lead an almost normal life.
 
Interesting to note that persons who perhaps caused this have chosen not to post.

I gave up on another Mb forum because of critism from others who disagreed with what I posted and were vocal on my postings

Life is too short to comment on these posters just ignore and carry on!

Ive just walked home from our closest friends’ house having consumed the usual excess of alcohol. Reading everyone’s comments brought tears to my eyes. You’re all wonderful. Thank you for the very kind and supportive words. Some of you have also sent private messages and I will reply to them all tomorow when my head is a bit clearer. It’s going to be impossible to leave here completely, perhaps I should have just said au revoir. Sod the acceptable protocol - I love you all xx
 
Sorry to hear about your loss but as you say that FB quote is very poignant and speaks volumes.

It's clear that there are many folks around here, me included who will miss your knowledgeble and informative contribution so perhaps limiting screen time would be appropriate.
