Goodwood Trackday 2013

Ok, so it's still looking to be dry for Saturday
I will continue to monitor the weather..

So far, there will be myself, The Don (C63 Black Series), Mr Poseidon (CLK55/ R34), Steve (CLK55), my friend Lee (R34) and our friend Ross (Spec-C Subaru) making the journey down to meet Ricky and Simon.

We are meeting at 7am at clackett services.

Anyone else fancy joining us?

Bit of a convoy building there Rash;)

Just to say took an 80 mile journey today north west of home, if it stays dry, think you will be OK, salt wise, but if it rains it will wash the remaining salt which is currently laying dry in the near and offside verges, into the road, that will be bad news. If it stays dry, and the gritters don't get out, it looks as if your be OK. Be great if the sun comes out as it has been, and still is today.

I'm sure there was a song about that! :bannana:

Yes, a gathering forms... :D

I was hoping a couple more from here would join us but no responses yet. I'm guessing people are busy over the Easter weekend :dk:

Thanks for your update on the road conditions :thumb:
I agree, if it stays dry, it should be all good. I'm hoping they won't see the need to grit considering how dry it is, including the air itself.

Rain will be the only thing that will stop play, so it looks like we'll be with you

I may come along, will see how I feel when the alarm goes off at 05:30 :o

I am sitting on the wings quietly still negotiating the terms of a possible day release, its still 50/50 right now.

Nothing like the fresh smell of V8 in the morning!! :D

Have spent most of the day outside freezing my socks off, but all in a good cause, I think? all ready for tomorrows efforts at GW, plus Vmax later on, where I have got to come up with some despicable plan to give Sav man and a few others here a run for their money.;)

Nice Super Sports on the rears, what size did you go with in the end?

Have you worked out the V2 kit yet, looks higher than at SRR :D

275 on the rear and 245 front pretty much standard sizes I believe, and yes Super sports rear and pilots front.

As for the V2, sorry to say thats just how Ollie left it Paul, have not even touched the controller, or read the instructions as yet, albeit Alps offered to run me through it all at the tuning event, but thought I might not take it all in at that time. Should you get day release, (LOL) and manage to come down, prehaps you'd be kind enough to show me the ropes of it. (it might look a little high as its been on the jacks).

Lol, that's the time my alarm will be going off too :D

Maybe see you tomorrow :thumb:

Would you be meeting us at clackett services or at Goodwood?

Just wondering whether we need to wait for you at clackett before we head off for Goodwood...

Hi mate,

From clackett services, we will head along the M25 to the M23 junction.
We'll then head down the M23, past gatwick and the branch off onto the A264 towards Horsham.
From there, we will head down the A264, all the way down and then get on the A29.

The A29 will then take us most of the way where we will get on the A27 for the last stretch.

This is the plan anyway!... Once in the car, the sat nav might have other ideas! Lol

But I will keep to the above route and let the sat nav recalculate itself if necessary.

We are going to grab a coffee and a McMuffin or something while people arrive and then head off when we're good to go - probably at around 7.30 - 7.40 ?

I'm coming from Heathrow so no need for me to drive as far as Clackett services, will see you guys at the track.

I may pop down* to say hello - I'm not taking my car on track but I may seek some passenger laps ;)

* 'Pop down' being a loose term - it'll be a 350+ mile round trip. But I fancy a run out in the SLS :)

Just seen the forecast for tomorrow... They're saying there could well be snow in the south east in the morning

This might really f**k things up for me :mad:

Going to have to keep an eye on it and see how things look in the morning.

Really don't want to bail, but if I wake up to snow, I won't be going :(:(

Hiya,

Been racking my brains where I could join up with you guys, I'll be coming down the M23, I think it best if I'll aim to be at the M23 / A264 junction at 07:50 ish, not sure exactly where i'll park up but will be at the first convenient "pull in" . Hopefully I should arrive before you guys. I'll be in a silver SL

If anybody else is heading south on the A23 to M23 could meet up at Starbucks at Hooley beforehand,( just before the A23 joins the M23) at about 07:15 ish

See you guys in the morning,

Cheers
