Hand held vacuum

I absolutely love the fact that you men, well, I imagine you are all men, are discussing vacuum cleaners! Would you like to replace my current model? He doesn't know one end of a vac from the other! Seriously considering a trade-in (lol).

Haha I felt a right girls blouse when I asked my wife if she would pick me the one I'd ordered from argos :D
She looked at me gone out thinks I've lost my marbles :p

This 'Man' has got a total of four hoovers Lisa. (One of them for my 40th birthday a few years ago)

I'm a builder with cleaning OCD. I generally leave a job cleaner than when I found it. :o

I just use the good ole Henry, which cost me £0 as it's my personal work Hoover haha! Don't think I've ever taken it out the van for use in anything regarding work

Then you don't work hard enough Ash!!! :D

Read through this as I'm considering a portable hand held, not sure I'm much wiser the Dyson's seem liked and loathed in equal measure.

Currently use the 'house upright' which gets the dirt up well enough but not the easiest to manoeuvre. Solved the extension lead issue though, replaced the power cable on the machine with extra long lead. Can vac whole house with cleaner plugged into the same socket in the hall.

The one I got the Vax 10v is OK for lightly soiled mats and OK on the leather seats. Had enough empff to get most of the dog hairs up.
Had just about enough power to do my car.
Down side is it can't get in all the nooks and crannies so need a brush for them spot. And it takes an age to fully charge
Otherwise I'm quite chuffed with it, I just couldn't justify 300 quid on a Dyson.
But if I was you I'd get a more powerful one.
Vax do a 18v one think I should of gone for that instead of the 10v

Nothing beats a Henry, £109 and is amazing.

Tried it on my kitchen floor however and the floor tile came up...!

Ignore the bagless is better crap, its not.

Our old Dyson exploded last week. I was balking on a new one, given they cost as much as a small terraced house in Newcastle....

However a pistonheader offered me a 50% off code....

I am a proud owner of a v8 vacuum :) And I have to say it's very impressive...

Forget the hand helds Benny. Get yourself a 'Henry' type Hoover. Much better.

Ant.

I'd second this. I actually use a Karcher one that I bought in Tesco I think. Used only for the car and is really good. Looks like this :

We got a V6 dyson in the January sales for about £170. Its charger is screwed to the wall in the kitchen and I think it's a doddle to use...in the house.
In the car, it's decent if you want to give it a quick 5-10 minute clean, as in the time it takes me to get the proper hoover out, get extension leads plugged in, I can be done a dusted with the dyson.
However, if you want to give it a proper clean, you need a proper hoover, with attachments.

Lidl currently have a cordless in for £15 anybody got one? Opinion?

Only after something for quick spruce up between 'propper' cleans.

I have one, not used it in anger yet. But the little I have used it shows that it seems to be up to the job. How robust it is I can't really say. The attachable nozzle seems thin enough to manage the crevices down side of the seats. It will also be useful for liquid removal. Can't see me doing a full carpet shampoo with it, but will be handy to deal with spillages.
