Head bolts snapping

Just found this forum. Looks like a good place to be. I am getting ready to pull the head on my '86 300E 3.0L. My 'Bible' seems to have everything but the head bolt torque values. Does anyone have that info available? Much appreciate it.
55nm, then 90 degrees, leave for 10 mins, then a further 90 degrees. Start engine with rad cap off until coolant is hot then switch off engine. Leave till engine is cold then put rad cap back on and away you go.

Thanks Ian! Very much appreciate the help. I should have asked if there are any numbers for the intake/exhaust manifold bolts too. I have disassembled many motors over the years, but this is my first time I've had to crack open one of my MB's. I bought this 300 very cheaply knowing the #4 cylinder has no compression to speak of. The rest are spot on and the car is remarkably clean for an '86, so I have my fingers crossed.

Enjoy

My misses has got a couple of Bristols if anybody wants photo's.

£30.00 each LOL

Which model? 411, 412, Brigand, Blenheim?

Just about the only car that would tempt me away from Mercedes ownership!

Just a couple of soft tops

Just a follow up for Ian. I pulled the head on my 300E today (piece 'o' cake) and found the #4 exhaust valve burned. Seat looks fine. Easy fix, so I'm a happy camper. Looks like my gamble on this car is going to pay off and I'll have a fine running auto to add to the stable in another week or so.

Cheers,

Brian
