Heated seats... coming soon!

Wrong part number!

I have hit a problem, the part number A20344005113 for the MB wiring loom is wrong, there is only two part numbers available so I am going for A2035403005 at approx £39 inc VAT which has the 4 wire connectors that fits into the dk-schweiser CF pads, but MB said this loom works with a w203 but not model 805 which according to MB my wifes car is an 805 version!!!!!?????
I have attached a couple of pics which show the problem!

Also the switch pack I have got could be a problem too according to MB, they say I should have A2038706710 but I have got A2038702210, the only thing I can visually see is that this switch pack has a park distance off button that my wifes car does not have? another project possibly???

The DK heat mats come with a loom and a switch on a 10" wire as per the pic, the switch is reduntant as I have the MB console switch pack hence buying the MB loom (right one coming next week!!!), do I have to use the DK loom to the pads at one end and the Merc loom at the other end?
I assume this is the case otherwise the Merc loom would have to have 2 connectors for each set of heat pads, so I'll take it I'm right on this but what do I do with the Red and black loose wires? are these used for anything? earths maybe??

Just do whatever looks the neatest, on mine which already had heated seats fitted i just cut the loom seat side and joined the new wires to this.

Basically 2 wires from the car to 4 wires on the seat.

You can but nice plugs from e bay or similiar but personally i would just solder them and cover them in heatshrink leaving enough slack for future work.

Can anyone advise please ???

Basically you should not need to use any of the DK wiring loom. The problem you have is you basically need to cut the white plugs off the end of the wires coming off the heat pads and then fit the proper little MB plugs onto them so that they can plug into the MB loom plug. The plugs are small and there is one for the seat back and one for the seat base and they snap fit together to make one plug which you then push into the plug you have on the MB loom. I will see if i can take mine out of my seat and get the part number for the little plugs :thumb:

Although to save hassle you could just cut the wires from both the pads and the MB loom and just connect together seperately....I think they are brown and blue on the MB loom and red and black on the DK ones from memory, i connected the black and browns together and the colours together. So you should have 2 reds, 2 blacks from the seat pads and then one blue and one brown from the MB loom to connect together......

Oh well in that case I'll just cut the suckers off, I'm not that bothered, just thought nothing fitted and something was wrong, will try again this weekend, thank you all very much!:thumb:

My pads came with nothing on the end. I soldered some spade connectors on the ends, pushed them into the MB loom connectors and taped it all up. Not pretty, but the seats have been working fine since I did the install.

As long as your switchpack has all your existing buttons + the heated seats I wouldn't worry about part numbers. My pack had a Parktronic button which I don't have so I removed the blank from my old switchpack and swapped it out. That way it looks OEM with no redundant buttons.

I'm having a nightmare! cant find the fusebox to run the green fuse wire into, last bit of the instructions was to run the wire round the back of the instrument cluster then I'm lost, the pic looks like its inside the car somewhere?
PS dont know how to remove the dash cluster either (yes its my wifes w203 cheers)

SORTED!!!!!
In Short, the fuse box is behind the panel at the side of the dash as you open the drivers door you see it, pull the door trim back, then pull the plastic panel off.

The switch pack from Ebay worked despite MB saying they wouldn't

The MB loom (part No above) worked also once I chopped the end connector off and fitted the DK ones that I chopped off the unsued DK loom.

Pain of a job for someone who has never done anything like this before but hey, it works!!!
Big thank you for all your help!

Well done matey! Had I seen your post sooner I could have given you a little guidance on getting the cluster out and finding the fuse box, but hey you worked it out anyway :D
How do these seat heaters compare to your E class heated seats?

Could anyone told me where I can buy those heat mats because I live in Finland and that DK U.k. wont answer anything to me when I trying to ask those. (ebay no answer, email NOT working)..

What is size of carbon those mats and how many wattage is power?

Did anyone have the plug part number to fit on the heater pads to fit the MB harness?
