HELP!! Fear in The Wet. W203.

Nisfan,
Thanks for this. Any idea how much new shockers are?

I would use Bilstein shocks myself. OEM to Merc so more likely to match the existing spring rating? Worth the extra money imho. Eurocarparts stock them.

They were £25 each for cash. Always in stock. Brand is KYB, the biggest shock manufacturer in the world, and by far the biggest OEM shock supplier in Japan.

Call on 0121 322 4200, and give them your reg number.

I think MB wanted something like £70 for one, so these are a lot cheaper, and I can't fault the quality, my car was like new after fitting them. ;)

Bilstein also good. :thumb:

Nisfan,
have rang them - £25 each plus £6 delivery.
Sounds good.
I'll make sure I need them first and if not I'll keep details till I do.
Ta.

No problem :)

To aid diagnosis, on my car, you could feel the rear bouncing on motorways, and when going round bends at medium speeds, the handling would feel a little nervous, especially if you went over a bump mid corner. But most telling was when you bounce the rear of the car with your body weight, you could see bounce.

Good luck with it!

I've changed my shocks all round and it drives like new again. I always use Sachs which is also OEM.HTH

Thanks again, Nisfan.

I'm going to get a few opinions on the state of my shockers.

Ken Vipond,
Good question and welcome to the forum.
My answer is that I would say not. However, I've not much experience in the area you quote and I would say that this definitely warrants a New Thread under "Wheels and Tyres". Go for it - start one up !!
