Go see a doctor urgently - you need help!!!

(Only joking - they are quite cute - and if Fuzzer can get away with one   :D  )

Boot fits a healthy man bag too?

Take one out on the motorway and then post your thoughts...

I went from North London to Brands Hatch in one once - good for parking.......;)

The new ones are better on the motorway as they have a longer wheelbase but I have done 90,000 miles in mine over 9 years including trips to Scotland & Europe!

Nothing wrong with them, we are busy with car sales atm, cheap to run, most are £35 tax, low insurance &, as you say Ade, easy to park although we do have a few customers with parking sensors (wtf!)

Oh and 55 mpg's not bad either (real life figure not made up marketing tosh from Smart!)

Cool. I never thought there was anything wrong with them, but I drive an ML... bit of a difference! Maybe a Smart next to it on the drive?!

I liked them until it changed gear...................:(

When are we going to get an electric Smart for sale to the general public?

by the time they change up you've lost so much speed you need to change down again!

still, i've got one alongside my merc. they fit perfectly on the drive you see.

I have the same affliction.

I've been holding fire until the diesel arrives, although I may cave in soon - the micro hybrid drive (stop/start) petrol arrives in October.

I worked on a Smart a few weeks ago and to be honest it was a fun car to drive. Should I be in the market for yet another car, a Smart would not be dismissed.

My last employer had one as a promotional vehicle (2004 model).
I thought it was great for round town and even at big speeds.
Sure theres only 2 seats but the boot is relativley generous and the performance is great to alebit 30mph lol.
We didnt keep it long enough to see any problems but they were cheap to run and service and definatley good sense in this current financial climate.

Can it be quickly and easily adapted to take my invalid mother in the back ??

We looked at one as a sensible second car. met one guy who does 30k miles in his per year. Commutes to London from Southampton. Another guy had driven over for his annual holiday and had 90k on the clock.

Good seats and legroom. Hard, jiggly ride on poor roads. Poor gearbox though new model is a bit better. Fun. But we were put off by only a two year warranty, only two years breakdown cover and no longer serviced at MB dealers. Smart dealers rather far apart round here. None in Soton.

We used them as an alternative to vans as our drivers used to carry very light loads. We ran 3 of them for 2 years, the mileages were 85k, 58k and 54k. Bearing in mind the vans we used at the same time had all sorts of work on them, these Smarts didnt take anything other than brake pads and oil.
They were used around town, and IMO are a very practical and reliable town car.

In the end we did get rid of them and all the vehicles were then changed to LPG combo's, thanks to good old Ken!

The only use I can see for those thing is as a local runabout.....but then I have an Electric bike for that.....:p

Runs for cover.......

Some people may know I am also a Smart speciaist.

In the past 16monts I have replaced 4 Smart engines (the one made by MB)

They just dont last and use oil like its going out of fashion. Get one with LOW miles is my advice.
