High fuel consumption w212 e350 cdi estate

Thanks, so maybe mine is right then. Just need to look into dpf though
That clogged DPF will cook the turbo and engine eventually. If you are burning oil (high ash content), then the turbo may be bad already, and the oil pump can fail as well pushing oil into the turbo. Needs very careful diagnosis.

I'll try and look at my values today , I'll put a picture up. I put stp cleaner in mine yesterday, I only ever do short trips usually.

Thank you. I will get this looked at, luckily not being used now

My 59 plate E350 231bhp also shows wonky DPF settings on the iCarSoft MB2.0 - 89,000km since last DPF regency etc. Was driving me bonkers - I even took it to Mercedes Brooklands and another indie as I was sure there was something wrong with my car, but nope, no issues with the DPF or any sensors. I contacted iCarSoft and they confirmed that that engine isn't supported for accurate DPF readings.

My 60 plate E350 265bhp has no such issues with MB2.0, readings are accurate.

Ignore those figures. There's no way your car is running and hasn't regenerated the DPF in tens of thousands of miles.

It may have been fixed in firmware updates from iCarSoft, but you need a Windows PC to do the update (I don't have one) and their support is a bit of a nightmare to deal with.

Id say that result shows last dpf regen was done at 82k. Ash and soot are sky high . Can the op confirm mileage on car . Screenshot_20250106-183331.png

I’ve just updated my launch tool, may make a difference. Hoping to check later

Hi

Current mileage is 167k, don’t think it’s been that long since last regen.

Hoping to get a forced dpf clean on it as well as check egr and take it from there. Got new seals for metal pipe as well to go on.

Right, checked again with updated Launch and these are the readings…a lot different to the previous ones

Also changed the green boost seal which was torn and noticed Y air intake at connection to turbo is broken so need to get a replacement.

No fault codes at all apart from a LIN bus one from a replacement alternator

Yeah unfortunately instead of replacing the £5-10 seal, mechanics will tighten the clamp on the turbo like it's a 1.5L junk diesel.

Now you're going to have to spend several hundred quid on that. New one finger tip tight only.

Repair kits are available.

I didn't realise sorry. It could get expensive. 😲

Yep, that's why it's particularly upsetting when they get cranked tight instead of replacing the seal.
