How to invest in classic cars and dodge the pitfalls

Still looking for my A30/35/40, but possibly another league than those mentioned in the article. :D

Probably just end up waiting till my old Jeep becomes a classic. If it lasts that long...

Anybody fancy setting up a fund to corner the market in Allegros?

I can put £20 in - just send me what's left over...

Any well cared for Mercedes will eventually become a classic .

I have a feeling this market is close to the top. Is it a bubble? We'll only know that for sure in hindsight but there sure are some very large numbers being paid for quite ordinary cars.

When a headline states that a particular asset has increased in value by nearly 500% over the previous 5 years, it's probably 4 years too late for most of us to be considering sticking a toe in.

It can't go on forever I don't think.

Seems that every car over 15 - 20 years old is now a classic, especially on eBay.

I used to go courting in an allegro :thumb:

Was not too bad as I remember.

I guess you mean the courting was not too bad as the car was sh*te :D

One of the guys where I used to work bought a new Allegro LE but no one could tell him what the LE stood for. We convinced him it was Lectronic Egnition he went around and told everyone after that proclaiming his colleagues knew more than the dealers

Allegro was great for courting as you didn't have to pretend it had broken down.

Equipe was actually quite nice (without the stripes).

"a total nut & bolt & restoration which took the owner 11 years to complete" In God's name, WHY?

I see the vendor is "Kult Kars". Surely that L should be a different letter?
