HOWTO: Pollen filter removal on a w202 (lots of pics)

Shude, that has got to be one of the fastest replies I've ever seen.

I've also noticed that the pics on your other HOW TOs are missing. Replacing them would also be very helpful.

Many Thanks.

Managed without the photos.

Filter was very dirty (black dust) and the crevices were filled with various bits of detritus (bits of leaves and sticks and even small stones!!). I gave the filter a good knocking against the garage wall, outside for obvious reasons, and then a very good vacuum. I needed to use a screwdriver to pry open the concertina to get the vacuum into as much as possible.

Re-fitted, after a bit of a struggle, and the difference to the blower effectiveness was immediate. I can now feel the blow on the screen as opposed to "sensing" it before.

I intend fitting a new filter soon but in the mean time this was a very effective, and easy, remedy for poor blower efficiency.

Help me plzzz

i have a 1999 W202 and the interior is always humid especially in really cold weather , the windows always have water vapor on from the inside and its driving me crazy , i was told that there is some kind of ventilation for the interior and mine seems to be blocked ? how can i fix that ?

I have the same problem, but, I think I have a rear os door that seems to fill up with water when it rains. I don't know why as I haven't investigated properly yet, but, it seems if I open that door after raining, it runs out. I reckon if I don't open the door regularly, it gets into the car, makes the carpet damp, which in turn causes condensation on the windows. The window motor has packed up on the door too, suggesting dampness etc.
