Dear All,

I think I met possibly the friendliest "mechanic" today ever!

I'm talking about no-one other than our own Mr Ian B Walker.

I've read loads of reviews and positive comments about Ian and now I wish to add my own.

The guy is straight up and does a great job.

Thats all you need to say about him.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

He has transformed our humble C270cdi into a wonderful sounding car courtesy of the AMG exhaust I purchased from R2D2.

I met Brian (lastminute) also.

Both of them are sounds blokes.

I would also like to recommend Pipewerx for making up a bore reducer for me.

I shall post some photos later on of how the exhaust looks.

I keep on looking round the backend of the car.

Absolutely gorgeous!

KJ

So does your W203 C270 CDI actually sound louder/deeper tone now with the AMG back box?

The main reason why I chickened out of getting a Brabus/AMG exhaust for my W203 CDI was because of the deeper/louder exhaust note after I heard a standard Merc CDI with a Brabus back box last week.

Flash,

It doesn't sound stupidly loud.

It's a kind of satisfying low rumble but not as tractory as it was before.

It was well worth the £££, if not for the sound but for the look of it.

Thanks for feedback mate as I was at first really tempted to get one as well. Cosmetically, it looks very NICE!

Did Ian test drive it after he'd done the work?

Edit, I noticed in the photographs you'd blanked out your numberplate, what about the car in the corner?

kbhogalW126 thats looking great! Have a narna :bannana:

When I got the Remus back box for my C200 I wanted it purely for the looks. I was quite gutted when I got the deep rumble as well as it took away my silent ride so I can relate to what Flash is saying :)

KJ thank you for your kind words. Its a shame you liked the exhaust as I had worked out how to fit it to my Coupe

I have a couple of photos I will add after typing this out. Never mind me, KJ is a top bloke too. :bannana:

And no Gareth, I didn't "Road Test it" :o

Notice the bore size, check for parked cars before fitting

kJ

Do these people make bespoke adapters to your spec,or was it an off-the-shelf item?
How much ££££ ?

I may need one or two for a project.(motorcycle)

Esox.

They made it bespoke.

www.pipewerx.com.

Tell them you are a club member and you were referred by ian @124works or myself.

he gave me a wee discount on the clamps so he may hopefully give you a discount.

regards,

KJ

Yeah, but Ians driven mine! ;)
Twice actually. First time was after a gearbox fluid change and I was impressed. Second time after it was chipped and I nearly wet myself.......sounds like a V8 runs like a 300_24............................ Awesome.

A standard C270 CDI is pretty quick and a "chipped" one would be even quicker against a "chipped" C250 diesel...;) :)
