Hey everyone. I'm retro-fitting my Audio 50 with a COMAND unit, and thought that would be a good time to also install the aux cable that runs to the glove box. We're doing this in a 2004 S211.

I know how to get the COMAND unit in and out no problem, and know how to remove the top inside bit of the glove box, but beyond that cannot tell how the aux cable gets threaded "behind the scenes" from the back of the glove box to the back of the COMAND unit.

Does anyone have the MB instructions for how to do this, or can can tell me whether I have to take any more bits of the car to thread this cable, and how to do so.

PS: this is not the iPod cable installation I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

There is no special information. Just use liberal amounts of felt tape (wide stick felt from Mercedes, comes with iPOD kits) so that it does not rattle.

Dang... another trip to the dealer's parts department...

Well... after several minutes of frustration, I've been unable to figure out how to thread (retrofit) the AUX cable. I had the COMAND unit out, tried threading the cable, also tried threading a thin, plastic strip through as a "leader", but zero success.

I'm really stumped, and could really use the insights of some members here. Anyone by chance have the workship instructions (WIS?) for how to retrofit the AUX cable???

Any help GREATLY appreciated!

Anybody? :( (I can't find a "pleading" emoticon...)
