Seen in Lancashire today at a Steam Fair. Not by me I had other fish to fry. Methinks kit car.

A number plate ending in F is from 1967. No chance for a pre-war Mercedes.

The body kit is clunky and detailing wrong.

-genuine for that age.....
certainly agree does not look at all pre war

It has coilovers on the front.

It looks pretty crappy all round.

If you are going to spend time building a car, why waste it building one that is rubbish?

When I was at school, a lad from up the road designed and built his own car from scratch as an A level project. It was 100 times better than that.

Agree. I recently saw a similar effort that was supposed to be a 30's Alfa...dire is the only word that could explain it. Never mind the cost & man hours. The funny thing is it would have been all the better, ten times better in fact, if it had no badges or emblems on it.

.

I dare say the owner is happy, which after all is the object of the exercise. I wouldn't want one like that, though.

1937 Roadster, the real thing I am told.

At some traffic lights today something made to resemble a vintage car with a B on it rattled up. Diesel powered, fake wire wheeled contraption. Tim Birkin would have been rolling on the floor in uncontrollable laughter if this was back then! I think it was Sherpa powered! Fake blower and SU sticking out the front!

The owner of that abomination had better watch out : Mercedes-Benz copyright protection team will be on him like a ton of bricks for displaying the star ( registered trademark ) on an inferior vehicle .

Not only the star , but the design and appearance of vehicles is copyrighted . There have been recent news stories of fake vehicles being seized and crushed .

Sounds like a Beauford. Your description is accurate...

Recently seen parked up outside a hotel in Dubai.
