This is my second request for any info on replacing the front side lights on my C320 CDI Sport W204.

I have not had a single response on my earlier request so I am assuming it is not a mod being carried out by others. So if nobody can help with this maybe you can help with letting me know if I need to remove the headlight unit to replace side lights as access is very restricted or is it a tricky job that requires perseverance?

Thanks Jaz

That is a funny and entertaining Thread! Not sure that I am too keen to mod the side lights now! I would have thought that removing the headlights may be a useful way to gain access. I can see one star head bolt and I guess that there is at least one other tucked away somewhere. Probably grill out etc but that cannot be difficult. I will have to investigate if there is no further help on offer.

Thanks for pointing me to that Thread Jazz, good man.

Get an inspection mirror so you can get a closer look, someone with small hands will help if the space is limited. A set of curved needle nose pliers may also help if the bulb is held in with the typically spring mounts.

I've done the side and parking lights on my S204, you don't need to remove the headlight BUT it's fiddly, and a fine pair of needle nose pliers is a big help to get hold of the bulb holders. IIRC they pull out slightly angled to the "fore and aft" centre line of the car. Double check that the LED's are working and well seated before you push them back into the holders - they have square shoulders that can catch when pulling them out, dropping the LED down inside the headlight where it's not retrievable (ask me how I know...).
