Little daily driver with super fuel efficiency

The Insignia [ its a German Opel really ----built in Rüsselsheim] is particularly safe car for its size. Rumour has it that it benefited greatly from safety data input from SAAB engineers during its development :thumb: [ thats before GM threw them to the wolves of course :(] It's let down by a fairly lacklustre range of engines with maybe the exception of the rare but interesting Holden [ built in Port Melbourne Australia] derived turbocharged V6 l the LP9

Not sure if this is of any interest to you Charles, but I've just taken in my friends 2001 3dr Peugeot 206 1.1 in a part exchange, he's owned it from brand new, it's got 12 month MOT and taxed till end of the month.

You can have it for £700 if it's of any interest?

Thanks but it would be too small for me (literally - I am more than somewhat well upholstered).

Lightweight..

I think I am starting to understand your irrational desire for a land rover now.
Most Range Rover/discovery drivers round here seem to fill the cabin out very well!

My friend that owned it is 6'4" and 19 stone to give you an idea of the deceptively spacious interior.

Minus points are the offside suspension is 3" lower than the right! :D

Is the Golf still the favoured car? I still feel you need to get a smaller car, maybe a mini-MPV style. The further it is from any existing car you have the greater chance of keeping it. IMHO.

Like an A2 Will?

I like a high seating position, good ride (the Honda Jazz is good on the first, poor on the second), decent torque and relative refinement. Which mini-MPVs deliver that?

I've banged on enough about the A2. But there are alternatives.

MB A-class
Citroen C3 Picasso
Ford Fusion
Nissan Note
Skoda Roomster
Toyota Yaris Verso
Vauxhall Mariva

There's no shortage of choice in the mini-MPV sement.

Ticks nearly all the boxes...

Yuck...

I just don't like them, any of them, the A2 and Mercedes A class apart, and the latter has been somewhat bashed about here.

LOL.

Tough a Kia Soul or Daihatsu whatever might fit the bill nicely.

Hmmm, you don't fancy a Perodua kenari??

Next...
