Low miles R63AMG

Over £30k!
On the face of it and taking the service/repair costs into account it has ended up costing the current owner quite a lot, but all cars have to be serviced/repaired and values of all cars have softened since they bought this R 63, so this probably isn’t that bad, it just shines a light on what we’ve all experienced in the same period. That said with all auction, on a different day it could have sold for much more, or much less, but on that day it was worth £30,500.

Yes, at least £6,000 maintenance over 1,200 miles and three years is quite a lot.

But you do need to double that to £12,000 to include three years of road tax, storage, detailing and fuel.

It's still only cost the owner £4k a year, call it a tenner a mile. Not bad. So he's maybe broken even over that time.

On the sale price, the headline number is £30,500 but it's the buyer is paying another 6% and VAT on top of that. Call it £32k.

(As usual, maybe more with credit fees - dealers still make an awful lot of money out of selling finance)

Got to pay for Edward Lovett, his team and that software somehow !

So, much more desirable than a 2006 E63 or C63 after all, apparently.

Yes, but what's it for? I can't see anything but rarity value and as a potential investment.

Hardly an investment, given how much capital the owner tied up in that car for three years when markets were flying.

Garden ornament? “Station wagon?”

You can be sure it’s not carriage trade (doing airport transfers.)

I did say potential investment, though like you I cannot see how. Perhaps it was just for the pleasure of owning it; like a high-end watch, it doesn't do anything that something far cheaper cannot do, and also (like most high-end watches, in my opinion...) its looks are pretty nondescript at best.

I don't understand watch-fanciers either...

Perhaps a You Tuber bought it for the views, subs, comments and a road trip.

'They' seem to be made of money these days...
I doubt it, but it is one category of purchaser that we don't always consider

That’s equally true for the vast majority of expensive things, a much less expensive alternative can very often get close, equal or even surpass the functionality or ability on the expense item.

Can't take it with you.

If you don't spend money on faster cars, older whiskey and younger women, you'll curse your kids with it.

My kids won't mind being cursed...

Here's a thing! I regularly drive past a strange looking Mercedes parked on the verge in Lutterworth, I've noticed it because it has no number plate on the rear and twin exhausts each side. I had a better look this evening and it's definitely an R class on a 06 plate, I assume with the twin double exhausts it could well be a R63? If so then quite a rarity and worth some money for it to be parked up in a verge.

the sale price reflects its rarity

and its excellent condition

the R63 makes no economic sense .. but if you want one, you have to pay ££

it is also a lovely colour

and has personality and a charm all of its own

Not many of the R63 have a factory reversing camera. The advert says this one does.
Almost all of the R63 have a panoramic/double sunroof. The photos suggest this one doesn't - just a regular sunroof.

It also says the paint is Chromite Black
it has the reversing camera .. 2006 quality, definitely not HD 😁

has standard sunroof

it is tanzanite blue

Could also be an R500. 5.5 V8 385 bhp yada yada.

This one's yours for a fifth of the price of that R63, even though it's only done 66k. Even has a pano roof.

Yes, £6k gets you this.

It's definitely double both sides, not single.
