Marvin's UK trip #2

Heya,

just arrived in Carmarthen not far away from the Brecon Beacons.

Spent the last few days travelling southbound from the Lakes. Through the Yorkshire Dales into Blackpool, the next day into Snowdonia, then met three other German boys in a hostel in Caernarfon and had a funny night :D
The following day was quite lazy, some more beautiful Snowdonia and down the coast into Llangrannog where we spent the night in the car. Lovely little town.
This morning to the very Southwest of Wales with a nice little coast walk near Milford Haven.
Tomorrow Brecon Beacons and back to England.

Only 3 days left, such a pity, by far not enough time for the big Southwestern part of England. Need to see how it works out on the road but shouldn't be a problem getting to Lyme Bay and Bournemouth area at least. Probably no real Cornwall though.

But now it's time to find a remote place to sleep at, need to get up early tomorrow. We want to relax at a beach at least once on this trip, so getting down there is quite a prioritiy :D

Cheers
Marvin

Marvin Hi
Good stuff indeed. Are you coming back via Kent or along the coast to make your return crossing?

Cheers guys,

glad you enjoy the thread :)

We're almost in Exeter now. Brecon Beacons were covered in low clouds this morning, so it was a rather unspectacular drive unfortunately. Waking up in some forest looking straight at Carreg Cennen Castle was pretty cool though. Didn't notice it last night because we arrived when it was already dark.

@ Mike: yep, we'll be getting back to Dover via the coastal route. Need to be there on Wednesday evening :( Would have been nice catching up with you. But if we manage to avoid another cold war there will be a next time of Felix and me driving around the British isles. :)

No problem and wishing you a safe journey home with no issues at the crossing point.

Top thread Marvin.. Some great pics and I hope you enjoy the final leg.

Morning :)

No no, we still have kind of a hygiene codex (if that makes sense), so go to hostels every now and again. I mean we've been on the road for 15 days now and had proper accomodation 4 times. So 11 nights in the car :D

Arrived in sunny Blackpool Sands yesterday afternoon, woke up to blue skies a couple of minutes ago just few hundred meters away on a hill. Lovely! 2 days left for a sunny south, ferry is booked, we're trying hard to enjoy every moment left...
Today will be 50% beach time though, and no going into Cornwall unfortunately :(

Hey guys,

well, what can I say?
The adventure is already over, I'm back in my clean and tidy home in southern Germany. :(
18 days of road tripping have already come to an end and some 2 hours of video and 600 pieces of photographic material have accumulated - I'm looking forward to going through all of that, especially the high quality pics that I will share with you in this thread once processed. Because:ttiuwp :D

We've done exactly 3,700 miles on this trip while averaging 38 mpg. Seen so many beautiful places and talked to quite many really nice strangers this time. We were fascinated by how many of you lot (:thumb:) have actually lived in Germany or simply like our country. Like last time, the old Lady didn't demand anything but expensive British fuel. She's now got 179,000 mi on the clock and needs some minor attention. A proper clean-up and MOT (already overdue) :D

That shall be it for now. I'll post another update once I've got a bunch of good pics to show you.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it a little.

Best regards

Hey guys,

hope you're doing well. :)
I certainly am and so is the car. A few things have happened since getting back to Germany three weeks ago: I turned 22, the Benz turned 27 and got new MOT two weeks ago.
I'm also getting ready for my studies that are due to begin in about two weeks (Environmental Geosciences).

But enough of that. Brought you some proper pics from this trip. Hope the colours aren't too vivid on your screens.

The route (a bit too long I must say.. or not enough time)
