Maybe just me but Audi indicator lamps are annoying

They look fantastic.

Love them.

It's a shame it was another thing copied by Peugeot

I like them alot.

Don't like the way that if the sweep goes from a boot mounted light unit to a wing mounted light unit the gap between the units makes it looks like an led has blown. But ok if it's all contained in one light unit. At least it warns us that there is an Audi about........

Like them.

Attracts attention better then regular indicator lamps, good safety addition.

Suspect other manufacturers will follow.

Who was first, Audi or Ford (on the Mustang)?

Isn't the 'stang's indicators sequential rather than sweeping? Just separate light units lighting in quick succession rather than a continuous bar.

I think the opposite - a more rapidly flashing light catches the eye, a lazy pulse doesn't. IMO they're a gimmick, but I do think that they'll end up everywhere.

Day seven: Sitting at a junction behind another car this morning I discover something horrifying about this Peugeot. The front indicators do that irritating sequential trace-a-line-then-off thing made fashionable by Audi. It’s a tedious gimmick which further investigation reveals to be something they fit only to sporty 308s for some reason. But really there’s no need for such ****ery.

A week with a Peugeot 308 GTi « Sniff Petrol

All I have noticed is that it would seem that a lot (not all) of knob heads seem to drive Audis.

Whether it's divs in A1s trying to race off the lights of an A7 driver with the spoiler on (at 40mph!) up the ar*e of the car in front.

The scrolling indicators are the least of our worries haha. But I agree, they look a bit naff. Novelty the first time you see them and will probably date rapidly.

Thought Audis didn't come equipped with indicators? or was that BMW :D

Think the principle is interesting, but don't like the Audi execution - pulse and pace.
and shape in this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Kipl25WIhE

Think this aftermarket fit, pace is better and more sophisticated, as it is more discrete.

Some people don't use their indicators, so maybe dynamic indicators might encourage usage

Presumably the Audi lights when on hazard mode do not sweep as the car is not actually turning, so logically should flash as normal to indicate the car's stationary state?

In lighting terms it is known as a 'chase' , not a sweep .

On Hazard mode it still sweeps.

I like them.

It sometimes takes a while for people to catch up with new stuff.
NEW STUFF !! this type of indicator has been around since around 1969. Possibly on Chevrolet SS Camaros, can't quite remember.

But they are defiantly not new. If we look closely almost nothing is new on modern cars, it has almost all of it been done before..with varying degrees of failure due to lack of technology or massive costs that faced our car building ancestors.

Headlights that turn to point in the direction of travel ? probably about 1935 , or thereabouts...the list is almost endless.
