the valve is the fuel shut off valve ive seen lots of these leak
you can not get them on there own you will need the fuel line which in the picture is no35 easy to fit it goes under the pump onto the side

yes that leak
you can not get on own so new pipe needed
might be worth getting the clip no107 which sits under the pump as well brake easy the job is abit fidderly to do

Ok cheers, any idea on the rough cost of the parts and how long would it take to change once the top covers are off?
 
rough cost £15 for pipe and clip
half hour to fit give or take afew mins

Had one of these leak on an ML one time i thought it was for connecting something to if the car had run out of fuel, to get her bled.

would suggest you get him to change all pipes its the o rings that leak on the pipes make sure they are grey rubber not black the grey ones are up graded and fuel resistant .
will get a air lock when changing them and need a air hose to pull the fuel through
 
I had a go yesterday, managed to change the pipe, it took me about an hour because a small clip in front of the engine that hold one of the pipes.

All done completed sorted and no leaks. :bannana:
