I guys, newish owner of a ml280cdi 2007 model. I am shocked at the fuel economy. I have owned many 4x4s and drive them with the respect they should get, it's not a car. It's similar to the economy of my ml270 which is horrendous. My previous car was a 2005 x5 3.0d and was a lot better.
It's just had a service B from a good friend at a Mercedes Specialist so it's not due to that.
Has anyone re-mapped one or the 320 for economy. I only need opinions as it really works on some cars and really doesn't on others, my x5 didn't change atall but was rather powerful post remap(an economy map) but my a6 gained 6-7 mpg city driving and 10-15 at 70-75 with the cruise on.
Is it just the fact it's a big heavy unit so won't work or have people had any luck? I LOVE the car so can deal with it if I have to but it just seems silly, it has a very under powered feel and is worse on fuel than a 3.5 v6 petrol Nissan Murano I had a few years ago.
Any help would be great
