Most you've paid to fill up your car

Well I saved £2.40 by filling up 2 weeks ago, its now £1,04.9 here now.

I had to laugh on the TV cost less than filling up the car. back in the 60's I sold new B/W TV's for around £68 and petrol was £1 for 3 gallons

How long before we start getting fuel thefts again.......watch out for the man with a piece of hosepipe in his pocket.

Lucky this isnt a 1970's skoda forum .... where the value of the fuel would be worth more than the car....:D

I was looking at the cost of fuel abroad as we were budgeting for trips to central europe this year - interestingly it seems that we are not paying that much more than many of our EU friends and less than a few countries.

Never put more than £65 in the CE as I've never run it empty..

I disagree, Fuel in some EC countries (Slovenia for instance) is still €1 per litre. Thats a fairly big divide if you ask me.

I always put £40 in the yellow one.. that tends to last me about a week... the SEC i stopped measuring as its used so infrequently...
and the SL.. i think its still got fuel in it from 2006..

I am assuming the redline is the UK......don't you just love graphs with no key.......:) is it in euros or pence? If euros then the redline aint the UK.....to be honest ...."I dont geddit"...

Seconded - a legend would have been nice .

Could be neither :D. Looks like prices might be represented as indices?

well i think we can assume we are looking at the price of unleaded in pence... its about right as we are selling at 104.9 now..

Anyone know how much it is in Dubai? I know its significantly cheaper than water but.. not sure if it had broken the 20p per litre barrier yet.

In Russia this summer I paid around 30p/litre for 95 unleaded. Diesel was around 25p/litre. Needless to say I filled up my tank, cannisters (2x10ltr) [and boots] before crossing the border back!
Les

PS since the EUR has gone into orbit against the GBP those trips to the continent will become much more expensive.

Cor.. picky - it just shows the relative cost of petrol in different places.

I thought the graph sufficiently clear to speak for itself (and I just pasted the AA tables into a spreadsheet and its my first day back in the office so I had a lot of other things to do) ;)

For the professional statiticians amongst you the vertical axis is pence and the horizontal axis shows the respective countries and we are talking about the cost of petrol per litre.

The red line is my photoshop estimate of 105p ie. the approx price in England at present round here (South London - SE19 to be precise).:p

Do they do one for diesel? I think that there might be a larger price difference.

£30/£40 as i dont like caryying unecessary weight.;)

Ditto on that ;)
In fact I think I've only ever filled my car up to the top maybe five/six times in all the while I've had my car, (Bought it New in 2002), and that was only because I took it down through Spain 3years ago, and Fuel is much much cheaper over there :(

Filled the ML tonight with 71 litres of diesel @ 119.9p per litre, and cost £85.13

It was 122.9p at a station down the road

It was a nice night, and so we popped out for tea. A very nice dinner for four plus Baby D came to £85.10, three pence shy of a tank of fuel.

It really makes me wonder how many people are making ends meet at the moment with fuel at these prices.
