Hi
My car, 2005 w203 Mecedes C class 200 cdi has developed a noise in the cabin.
It is rattling noise. I checked the HVAC blower motor and all air related flaps and motors but cannot detect a noise coming from them. The engine pulleys do not rattle, the engine mounts are fine. The car does not have an absorption motor, and also no SBC brake pump.
Here are two links to the noise:

- Noise2.m4a

- Noise.m4a

Any help to identify the cause is highly appreciated!
Thanks

Is that noise present when the car is moving or static ?

This noise is present when the car is moving, more prominently when turning the steering to the right. To me it sounds like a fan blade touching something. I have a doubt at the moment that it may be the engine fan touching on the black air hose or fan shroud.

Unfortunately not, that has been checked.

I just check and can confirm that the engine fan blade is not hitting on the shroud or air pipe.
Any other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

The noise is certainly coming from the centre console area. As much as possible I touched the underside of the car under the transmission and through the undertrays and I do not feel lose heat shields or that the exhaust pipe is moving. What do you think in that area could be causing rotational type of rattle?
