My C63 AMG in Europe...with video!

I've been away for around a year and I see dhard is still bring such value and trolling these waters

Watch the video/clip see when he slows down at the tunnel then suddenly accelerates causing the black car in the middle lane to break sharply effectively be blocked in . Imagine if the driver of the black car look in the mirror see a clear lane attempted to change lane split second later that all it would have be the way the c63 driver accelerate for no reason( apart from being driven by egotistic moron ) the result would be fatal . What right has the driver of the c63 got to drive in such an appalling manor on a public road ...

On a straight unrestricted road like that it would be grossly incompetent and dangerous to move out to another lane without making absolutely certain there wasn't a car approaching at 200mph or more. It shouldn't be a matter of a quick glance in the mirror then move out. Driving on roads like that demand attention and planning.

The OP wasn't driving "in an appalling manor" (nor even a nice manor like Waddesdon Manor), he was driving in a lovely Mercedes! The manner in which he was driving looked perfectly safe to me.

Hmmm, I don't remember this so I've just re-watched it twice. Yep, no brake lights. Are you sure you're watching the same video? Or are you just a 100% moron who like to try baiting people.

Oh and by way of my 'appalling' driving, I'm fully open to being re-educated. Would you care to share any of your Youtube videos showing perfect road craft? Happy to watch them and learn.

And that is the way the German's teach their drivers. On the whole the lane discipline is excellent out there. Yes there are people who perhaps don't pay quite enough attention, but on the whole the standard of Autobahn driving puts us Brits to shame

P.S. Glad you enjoyed the video :thumb:

Dhard;

I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public :o
Not sure what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce :dk:

If you don't agree with the OP then that's fine but the Autobahn is the only legal place for driving fast
I drive thousands of miles a year on the Autobahn and yes, there is a time and a place for hitting the 200+mph, the OP seems to have slipped in to a little safety issue with the amount of vehicles he was passing but no harm done.

Anyway, I like you. ;) You remind me of myself when I was young and stupid

I just watched it again too and can't see any brake lights on any vehicles during the tunnel section. Perhaps our dear friend has trouble distinguishing between brake lights and rear lights. What I did see was cars being driven at a good safe distance behind each other so there would be no need for any sudden braking from anyone. I hope our friend doesn't inhabit the same dream world when he's in his car (if he has one)!

Dhard hasn't even got a car

Unless you count his Micro Machines M3

Could not agree more with you. Lane discipline is what allows you to drive fast in Autobahn. Its shocking how bad is in UK but you don't realise it until you have been in Europe.

Totally agree I had to drive the M25 yesterday lane discipline is appalling on that motorway by far the worst I have ever experienced in The UK Or Europe

Time to toughen up the driving test and implement regular retesting in the UK lets get the idiots off the road so they can stay at home in their armchairs where they belong ;-)

A few of us going on the AMG Tour next week. Germany, Austria and a peek of Italy through the Brenner Pass

I will be hitting over 200mph as looking to record top speed but only if the conditions allow i.e. weather, traffic, available lanes etc

Germany is a much more disciplined driving experience, the locals are rigorously tested, even more so today compared to when I took my test in Germany back in the 80's. They have always had Autobahn training and testing and this definitely shows.

Holland is the worst place for lane changing without warning followed by Belgium. It seems indicators are an optional extra for their cars

Back on topic, Germany is a great place to drive if you use the current situation correctly. The accident rate is far lower than those countries with speed restrictions so can't be all that bad

If you have the skills and balls to do high speeds, enjoy :thumb:

Shocking absolutely shocking if think his driving looked perfectly safe . + the grossly incompetent dangerous is the driver doing 200 mph not other road users you need to read the Highway Code ...

Can you ensure there's some good footage please Chris :thumb:.

why then is the death rate going up year on year on the autobahn despite the fact that cars are getting more and more safer and on restricted roads in Germany fatal accidents are at all time low . and by the way if you think am young and stupid you must be an old fool if think of driving at 200 mph .the stopping distance alone to the car in front would be 256 meters ...

Thank you for those informative facts. I particularly applaud your capability of accurately determining the "stopping distance" (your words) of the OP's car with its indeterminate load on a road with a surface friction that most of us would be unable to evaluate from a short video. What's also impressive is that you were able to also use that short video to evaluate the preceding car's speed and thus the relative closing times. But you referred to the "stopping distance" of the OP's car so should we conclude that you have provided a figure to come to a complete stop, and not just to reduce speed to that of the vehicle that's pulled out in front without looking? If so, I'm very impressed with the OP's car if it can stop in such a short distance!

BTW, yes I have read the Highway Code many times and make a point of keeping up to date with its contents. However, I fear that it must be time for me to visit Specsavers because each and every time I've looked I've missed the sections on driving on Germany's Autobahns!

Get yourself one of THESE and you can swot up on it *while* you are doing 200 mph :D

Thank you. We're all refreshed and challenged by your unique point of view. You don't seem yourself today, I noticed the improvement straight away.

As I stated earlier, I very often drive at speeds of over 200mph if and when the circumstances allow. Why? Because I can :thumb:
