I've been busy this morning adding a few touches to my car namely these...

AMG logo on start up of Command thanks to this from Whitenemesis:

STEP1: Turn ignition to position 2 (NOT turning engine on)
STEP2: Turn on your COMAND unit and select CD.

STEP3: Press "5" button.
STEP4: While holding "5" down, press "3" and "7" down and hold all three buttons down for about 10 seconds until next screen shows up.
STEP5: At the new screen scroll down to select "AMG211_USA"

Step 6: Press "Back" soft key to get out of programming screen

Step 7: Turn car off and wait about 3 to 5 minutes for COMAND to "reset" itself

Step 8: Turn on COMAND unit and you should see AMG logo screen
It took literally a few moments and the smile when I started it up and turned on Command seeing that AMG logo... simple things!

Next up....

I replaced the button shifters with these flappy paddle like ones. Plastic and coated in red. They took about 5 minutes to install after a quick watch of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTO0cu-EkA4

I quite like the feel of them and can see myself using them now. The buttons didn't do anything for me. They look like devils horns which is quite apt given the beast of a car that the CLS55 is. Aesthetically and for general use, I quite like this mod. They cost £90 quid from ebay and were very easy to fit.

I may change the color in the future to silver, but I wanted to see what they would look like as red because I may get the stitching of the interior done red with more alacantra in the future. Plus my calipers are red and again I like the devil horns look and fee!

Lastly...

These door pins which I bought about 2 years back from ebay for about 20 quid. I've only fitted the one to the drivers door just to see if I like them or not. I do, but not these particular ones as they are not a good fit and are cheap and nasty basically.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist and like things to look like they belong there so I'll be looking at some expensive door pins and the chrome 'washers' as they enhance the look and feel in my opinion.

This took 5 minutes to fit. I recommend using some kind of protection on the original door pin so as not to damage it. I cut an old sponge up and used that.

So 3 quick and easy interior mods/enhancements.

I've also ordered these from ebay:

I bought these cheap ones to see if I like them and see if they fit the look and feel of the car that I'm aiming for. If they do I'll get some genuine ones.

Anyway more to follow no doubt as I embark on a journey to make my car the best it can possibly be.

Thoughts, suggestions and any other ideas most welcome.

Nice one Chris. I've gone for the same paddle shifters but in silver. Nice touch imo and not expensive either.

Yep, they feel nice to the touch and work a treat when actually using them as well. I'll probably take mine out and get them repainted as they are a bit dull and not a great finish to be honest.

I'm sure there would be a high demand for such a product so hopefully they can make some.

How much are the 63' ones that Andy and killerhertz fitted?

Not too shabby actually

Out with the dremmel though for
Fitment

I bought the c63 ones from comandonline better feel and quality

I have a specially made thicker DTM version wheel

Very good write up Chris.

CLS 55 are very rare cars and with under 400 on road in UK it makes for a nice pub story too :)

I have recently moved to Milton Keynes so now I need to find a decent local mechanic to sort few niggles with mine. I would drive to Wayne gates as he is by far the best i have used so far. But Terry will need the car for few days which is a bit impractical.

Anyone know of any other Independant mechanics in Bucks?

I am also going to go for ACID treatment once other bits are done on the car

Yes, they do have a good knowledge of AMG vehicles. Millennium are part of LA auto services which is next door. Millennium specialise in MB where as LA specialise in BMW and MB. They have a lot of knowledge and expertise under one/ two roofs!!

There is even a bodywork shop within the same complex that specialises in MB. Indeed I am taking my A124 E320 sport-line convertible there for a full body respray in a couple of months.

Some pics after a recent valet thanks to my nephew who works for Audi and gets to drive all their high performance cars all day and customers' cars from Lambos to Ferarris...

Some may tut at the cheap tires, but they do the job and I find it more fun to drive on cheap tires.
